Guest guest
Lin, I don't think they can stop paying you if you refuse experimental treatments! At least I pray not! Hugs, Jo
Guest guest
Lin,I've been reading the posts about this MRI he wants to do and it sounds way to experimental for me. Anyway he can give you some documented information on this? Can you contact the facility thats supposed to be doing it and speak to a clinician there?Gentle HugsDonna Donna, I would love to but he didn't give me any information on where I would be going to or what exactly I am supposed to do . He did say that I would be there at least 2 days. I don't like the sound of this, but there is nothing I can do if I don't go along with what he suggests then I could lose my long term disability and pay, so I sort of in a rock or a hard place. But I have found out a couple of places that are located in Bethseda land. Anyway I will keep everyone informed as soon as I find out. Guest guest
Shouldn't that be illegal? Do we have any lawyers with RSD that could help all of us? Just a thought. Guest guest
Here's a little hint for ya Lin.... They can't do anything without a referral from your Primary Doctor/Pain Doctor. If that doctor refuses to give the Referral for it, then there is nothing they can do about it, and they can not cut off your checks just because a doctor refuses to give that referral. If I was you, I would definately go and find a lawyer that does consultations for free................. Most Lawyers that deal with W/C can't get paid unless you get paid, and then only a certain percentage, like 33%. But, I'd definately find one and ask them if it is legal for W/C to stop payments if you refuse to go and have an experimental procedure done that is not a cure, and is not FDA approved for RSD Patients to be having done. I do know for a fact that what that quack is talking about, is where they will insert a little machine that sends electrical jolts to part of the brain.....like a little micro SCS in the brain, that is ONLY for someone with Severe Dystonia, where the muscles have the body/limb totally twisted up and they are unable to stand up straight, or the limb is twisted completely and there is no way to straighten it back out. That is the ONLY Disease that any trials have been done for with that procedure. And, even then, it doesn't help with the pain........only the twisted muscles. Go talk to a lawyer, ASAP! I don't know Jo, I haven't heard from him so maybe I didn't qualify for this study test. We can only hope. Lin
