Guest guest Posted August 6, 2006 Report Posted August 6, 2006 So, I had my surgery on Aug. 2nd. I had the lap, which made it easier, or so I though. Apparently the complications they warn you about happened with my surgery, I had leaks so instead of 2 1/2 hours, it took 5. Funny thing is, when I woke up - which I had a tough time doing - I was extremely nausetious, but I didn't believe they operated because, honestly I didn't have any pain once the nauseau wore off. However, I look like I have been in a car accident. I am so black and blue, my arms, my chest, and stomach. I was a very difficult patient to start an IV on due to small wiggly veins, that they gave up while I was awake and attacked my arms with a vengance while under anesthia. They ended up with one in my foot and one in my hand. While I was out the used the blood pressure cuff to try to pump up my veins, its not pretty, let me tell you. Anyway, I felt great in the hospital, really and truly. Riding home I become very ill. I started vomiting at 10ish and stopped at 9pm. Then day 2 home, I felt really good. Today, vomit or something like it i guess. I dumb struck by this. I have diaherria (please excuse my spelling it's not so good today), and constant queeziness. Is this common? the Doctor called in a prescription that helps with the vomiting and then called my husband to check on me and gave us his personal pager number. I guess I got too cocky, thought I would sail through as I felt so good in the hospital. I chatted with a woman in the hospital who gave a presentation at our orientation meeting and I got the feeling she was sizing me up for failure. I am not usually this gloomy, and I apologize, I guess I am having a pity party today. Any thoughts on the icky tummy? suggestions for clearing out the massive bruises? I missed your kind words, progress and feeling a part of the group. Hope you all are doing well. Warmest, Debi 243/206/115 wls 8/02/06 __________________________________________________ Quote
