Guest guest
Hi to all my PLS buddies, and to all who have joined in the last few months. My computer broke (actually, my husband dropped my laptop and broke the screen. I have not been online for quite awhile, and I really miss " chatting " everyday. Well, as some of you may know I was diagnosed with PLS at age 29...It has almost been 10 years! I saw some posts asking about symptoms - I have severe spasticity of the legs. I have a baclofen pump and use a rolling walker/wheelchair. Unfortunately, my arms have become very weak, so now things are tough, but I have a great family who has helped me this far. I also noticed posts about SSI/SSDI...Before I retired due to PLS, I worked for years as a dosability analyst and hearing officer - and I specialized in medical claims. If I can help answer anything,,,just ask. For anyone newly diagnosed, you're in great company here. Ten years ago, I wasn't even sure if I would live another 2 years...Hang in there, and if you have a ?, just ask - I think many people here share similar experiences. Please be safe with this hurricane. Gaston and Charley were certainly enough for us this season. Be well, Bonnie McIsaac
