Hi to all my PLS buddies, and to all who have joined in the last few

months. My computer broke (actually, my husband dropped my laptop and

broke the screen. I have not been online for quite awhile, and I

really miss " chatting " everyday.

Well, as some of you may know I was diagnosed with PLS at age 29...It

has almost been 10 years! I saw some posts asking about symptoms - I

have severe spasticity of the legs. I have a baclofen pump and use a

rolling walker/wheelchair. Unfortunately, my arms have become very

weak, so now things are tough, but I have a great family who has

helped me this far.

I also noticed posts about SSI/SSDI...Before I retired due to PLS, I

worked for years as a dosability analyst and hearing officer - and I

specialized in medical claims. If I can help answer anything,,,just

ask.

For anyone newly diagnosed, you're in great company here. Ten years

ago, I wasn't even sure if I would live another 2 years...Hang in

there, and if you have a ?, just ask - I think many people here share

similar experiences.

Please be safe with this hurricane. Gaston and Charley were certainly

enough for us this season.

Be well,

Bonnie McIsaac
