I have called Medtronics with many questions and they are very helpful.

I have only had my SCS for just over a week and I too have called Medtronic and they answered my questions very well. I like that you can call and actually talk to someone immediately. I had a couple of basic questions a few days after implant and was happy that I could call and talk to someone rather than having to call the doc's office and leave a message and wait for a return call. I understand that the doc's are busy...but sometimes patience is not my best attribute and waiting for a call back can be irritating. I am very pleased with my unit, although I will admit, I would have to go look to see what model I have - memory isn't what it used to be.

I guess my only complaint that I might have about the SCS is the size of the controller. I guess I just think that it should be a little smaller. I have noticed that I forget to take it with me, again with the memory..ugh! I wish that it came with one that you could just put on your key chain...like the size my son has for his remote car starter, or like my car alarm and door locks. If nothing else..maybe even if it was smaller like a pager that you could just clip on.

Since I haven't worked in so long...I never carry a purse anymore...just carry my wallet with me or put my money in my pocket if we are going out. I guess I will have to start carrying a purse with me again so I can keep my controller in there. I actually left the house yesterday for the family cook-out without the controller and drove 30 miles away. Thought about it as we got there that I would be completely screwed if I needed to adjust stim or shut it off for any reason. I will assume that it will come more naturally with time, or at least I hope it will.

Okay...I have rambled on enough I think. Thank goodness I have here to ramble though...I am the only one up in the house. If I didn't have the group...I would probably be talking to myself!
