Guest guest
Saw the surgeon last Monday & just hadn't had a chance to post before now. All went well. He was very glad to see that all of my numbness is now gone. I still have zings on the left side of my chin but at least I can feel if something is touching it now. Beats the heck out of total numbness. He says the zings should go away eventually too. He says I will see him only once again when the braces come off. He asked when that would be. When I told him it might be May he looked puzzled & then laughed. He said " Oh that's right, you have my old resident, Lisenby. He's quite the perfecitonist. " Glad he found amusement in that. When I take my rubberbands off, my midline now stays still but my teeth on the other side, which he is trying to pull in snuggly, keep going back to their regular spot. It's so neat when I have the bands on & everything is fitting perfectly. I never knew teeth were supposed to touch in so many places. I definitely hope he trains these teeth to stay still. I really like the fit. Oh yea, the resident measured me at 38 with gentle pushing. The surgeon measured me at 35 without pushing. (Thanks for the encouragement Sandy!) I remembered to ask him what my presurgery measurements were & he said 45. So I'm not far off. At least I can eat burgers now without squooshing the heck out of them. All in all, I'm very happy with everything. Georgia
Guest guest
Georgia, Glad to hear you're doing so well. I'm assuming that that old joint pain is completely gone? Our orthos must be kindred spirits. When I saw my ortho's partner the other day he told me that if I was his patient I would have already had them off . I guess a few more months won't matter in the long run. I'm still partially banded, too. I know what you mean about the 'fit'. I can now actually bite into sandwiches without leaving the lettuce, tomato and onion still in the bread. Cheryl
