I'm a newbie!! from Mississippi. I have been approved for

surgery by my insurance company, and I met with my doctor today. He

thinks we could do the surgery in a couple of weeks. When I left

the office I was so excited, but I haven't been able to do anything

but cry since I got home!!!!! Has anyone else experienced anything

like this? Any encouragement would be helpful!

Thanks ! I decided I was losing my mind. LOL Here I was

getting this great opportunity, and I was dragging my feet. I am

still a little scared. Okay, A LOT scared. I just can't imagine

how life will be post-surgery. I know it will be much better but it

is just hard to wrap your mind around it when food and your weight

have always been such an issue in your life.

Wow a! That is inspiring!!!! I am so happy for you and how well you have

done throughout this process. You can never ask too many questions. I am not far

out enough to answer most of these. As far as the bat wings, which I have, I

believe all we can do is exercise them out and pray :) So you don't eat meat?

If you don't mind me asking, what is your diet and exercise? Thank you for

offering information to help us as well. Congrats!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone, a s here originally from Maine but now

living in CArlinville, illinois..

surgery date was 06/06/05..doing great with weight loss.. have

surpassed anyt hing I could ever imagine. At surgery date was at

270, but highest weight was 350..am now at 142..WLS dr wants me at

140 so am almost there, but am worried about how to stop losing once

there..lol..who would of ever thought I would be worrying about

losing too much weight..I am losing 1-3# per week the past few

months and know it will have to slow down/stop soon.

So what are some of the things you all are doing to maintain your

weight and not lose any more? My old gp had said to start taking in

more potassium,is this something to look into for me?

I can still only eat 2-3 bites at at time and still can not do

meats..all my blood work comes back good.

Last time I saw WLS ws in March and he was thrilled at how well i

was doing and said did not need to see me for a year, but should i

give hima call. I was happy with my eight at 164...lol which was my

goal and a size 16, but he thought i should be at 140 so here I am

almost there..lol and am now a size 6/8..

I feel awesome and look great.Do have some sagging skin, but not

nearly like I thought I would. Is there anythgn I can do to improve

my batwing(arms), sagging inner thigh area..other than

surgeies..which i am going to try to have done wihton the next year?

So many questions..lol.sory ,but could suee the help from thase who

have been there.

Taking life one day at a time and loving it!!

Hi !!

How exciting!!!!!! Congratulations. This is a difficult time really, your

life is getting ready to change and stepping outside the box many of us have put

ourselves in is hard. I cried out of excitement that I was going to have a life

again. It's natural to be scared and excited during this. This is a huge

decision and change. You can do this though. Think of all the things you are

going to be able to do afterwards. Think of all the positives to this. It has to

be worth it to and for you!! It surly was for me.

Best Wishes,

Shauna
