Hi Colleen,

I have taken Provigil for around 2 years now. I call it my miracle drug to help

me through the day. Before I started on it I didnt have any energy, constantly

taking naps, and my house looked terrible. Now that I am taking it my house

stays clean and I have energy to help me through. I take 1/2 in a.m then another

1/2 at noon. Be careful not to take it past noon or it could prevent you from

sleeping well at night.

I can relate with you about your Neuro, I am my Neuro, rehab and primary docs

first patient with PLS.

Do you take Baclofen for your spacticity and tightness? You might talk to your

doc about increasing it if you take it, if you havent started on it I would

myself talk to your doc about something to help you with spacticity.

You mentioned that you are still working, do you sit all day? I find for myself

if I do stretching excersizes it really helps too, especially if I am on this

darn computer for too long.

What meds are you on?

I take Baclofen for spasms, Provigil, Neurotin for spasms and tightness for PLS

and restless leg syndrome, Trazadone to help me sleep and here in Oregon we have

the medical marijuana which I use.

I hope this helps some.

Take care Colleen, Sandy

Sandy,

THANKS - i feel much better about trying it now!

I take zanaflex 8mgs day and 8mgs with 600mg neurontin at night to

sleep. (my doc just increased the zanaflex to 8mgs from 4 and added

it to the day time slot - previous was only at night) How much

provigil do you take? I just started and it is supposed to be

200mgs, but i started only 100 (am an Rx chicken :) ). Doc talked

about switching to baclofen, but since the zanaflex was working, he

stay with it for now.

Yes, i sit at a computer all day. Fortunately, i work from home a

couple of days a week and can sneak in some nap time. In the

office, i hit the wall somewhere around 11 am and spend much of the

rest of the day staring, trying to hold it together. I strecth 1

or 2x a day and i exercise very regularly. Bike mostly (have a

trikke too), but walking is much more difficult for me so i only do

that every so often with a cane. My theory is that on the bike, my

feet never move from 'terra firma' aka the pedal, so it makes it

easier to do. Of course trying to balance or walk the first hour or

so afterwards is a joke - look like a totally blotto drunk.

Funny what you say about your house - i can't do both - work and

clean, and since i work.......

Thanks again!

Colleen

Colleen,

Nice to hear from you again. I take Provigil 200 mgs in the morning. It

helps me through the day. I do have some problems in the afternoon and am

starting to think that I should take 100 in the morning and 100 at noon. I

also take baclofen and snaffle and looping, all of which will make me

drowsy.

Colleen, I take Provigil and I think it is wonderful. I can't really do more

when I take it but am awake while I am doing it. Without it I fall asleep every

chance I get and my mind feels dull, when I take it I am alert and feel alive.
