Guest guest
HI Amey, Well I made four bean salad, which has been very hard to do around here, has anyone else had a hard time getting canned wax beans? They have been impossible to find until this past weekend. So four bean salad and regular potato salad but use some balsamic vinegar to add a bit of color and flavor, and of course corn on the cob, my neigh or made some Rock Cornish Game hens and I made a brisket that you finish on the grill with a glaze of mustard and brown sugar slowly cooked to make a crisp crust on the outside of the beef and then sliced for sandwiches. I also made deviled eggs and a cold crab meat dip. For desert I made a devils food cake with a white chocolate ganache frosting then decorated, of course, with blue berries and instead of strawberries we used maraschino cherries to make a flag pattern on the top. Also had devils food chocolate cupcakes with red, white and blue frosting. And of course watermelon and ice cream. We went to see the county fireworks and fair. They had moved it this year and the fair part was really small. However we where late getting there and had to park way in the back Thank goodness for my trusty Rascal! They had a rather large area set up front to watch the fireworks and as luck would have it the port o' potties where not to far behind! I don't know about anyone else but the stupid sweating I am having always starts up with trying to hold out using the rest room. So I experienced being in a port o' potty with the fireworks going off directly overhead and the percussion was incredible outside so you can imagine being inside one of those! LOL Anyway, I found that this year I was a lot more sensitive to the booming and vibrating from the fireworks and was actually quite frightened from the finale when they where really setting off quite a few things that just boomed with flashes of white Light. I find that each year I lose a little bit of strength and enjoyment as I slip more and more into this disease. Felice
Guest guest
Felice, Wow you did alot of cooking, that all sounded so yummy!!! I just wanted to let you know that I have problems with sweating real bad too. The minute I walk out of the house the sweat starts pouring. It's so awful, especially when I go to work. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to the office and I sweat the whole way. I wish you had enjoyed the fireworks more than you did, but I'm glad you were able to go out for the day. <hugs> Lori
Guest guest
Can you tell me your recipe for white chocolate ganache? I have been wanting to try that instead of, milk or dark chocolate. Thanks -----Original Message-----From: felicet867@...
