I already travel to Dallas to see a Neurologist for my migraines (I was getting no relief from the Dr.'s in this state), who by the

way is listed as on Neurology.com as a Dr.

who treats RSD,

think I should just go ahead and give him a call? But, because this is a

workman's comp I would have to call them first I suppose.

Hello

Jen,

Welcome

to the group, and sorry to see that you are facing the battles with doctors. I

would suggest that you contact the Worker’s Comp case manager, and advise them

that you are aware of a doctor that treats the condition, and the fact that you

have already seen him for issues other than the RSD. I think they might jump at

the chance to get things rolling for you. If you receive treatment early enough

there is the possibility that it can be driven into remission. Your situation

won’t necessarily follow patterns seen by others, but I would make the attempt,

as you already feel the alternative.

You will find the group helpful in many ways as we have folks

here that have a great deal of knowledge, and you won’t find a better gathering

of people anywhere. They will share their knowledge, support you in anyway they

can, and even have ears if you just need to vent. I am Mark (The Furball

Formerly Known as Greybeard), and I am the self-assessed lunatic of the group.

I wish that we could have met under better circumstances, but welcome.

Jen,

Chances are, they won't (W/C) ok it for you to see an RSD Doctor, because then it would mean that they are agreeing that you do have RSD.....and that right there would win your case hands down. And, no W/C wants to admit to RSD because it is the Most Costliest Disease there is.

But, if they keep sending you to their doctors, and their doctors can find anything else at all wrong besides RSD and blame everything on whatever they find, then they won't have to pay as much.

I tried that myself. to get W/C (in Iowa) to Ok everything for me to go see an RSD Specialist in Chicago......they flat out refused. Their doctor's kept saying I was faking it all because all of my tests came back negative.......and they was scared to death that if they sent me to a Specialist like that, then they'd be paying out the nose for the rest of my life. Instead, because they didn't send me to the Speciaist, they also would not even recognize any of the info that was sent to them from the Specialist in Chicago.......and there fore, got out of paying hardly anything.

I would definately give it a try and see if they will ...... but, don't get your hopes up too much.

Good luck.....

Just reading this Jenn and I also live in Arkansas but about 45 miles west

of Memphis, TN. I do go to Little Rock to my Rhuematologist every 3 months.

Perhaps sometime we might meet. I have not read your intro message so not

up on how you are doing. Just found out had over 3,000 emails blocked and

then went on vacation so just obviously not up on everyone especially those

that are new. Please take care and hope to get to know you well.

Jen,

You dont really even have to go in and say you want to go to your neurologist for RSD Say you want to go to find out the cause of all your pain and what his opinion is. Don't give up every state is different. Try it anyway. Good Luck Jeannie iowa97 wrote:
