And my philosophy is to set your goals very low. It's amazing how good you

can feel about yourself when you meet or exceed your expectations.

Gee Rick

I'm a very serious and philosophical person. Really I am. But with

great thought on your request I guess my basic philosophy that gets

me through these days is DENIAL. You know, sort of like that 80 year

old who found himself swimming in the Atlantic Ocean for 18 hours

(his boat anchor lost its grip and drifted away while he was

diving). He said he survived by not mentally thinking about the

horror of the situation but simply by living in the moment.... moving

and trying to stay warm. He was 10 miles from shore and simply

started swimming in that direction. Now everyone knows an 80 year

old man can't swim 10 miles in a rough, cold sea. But one stroke at a

time....he was rescued 4 miles from shore.

Well everyone says that because I live alone and use a walker I

can't: travel, move to Florida, maintain a house, etc... So I DENY I

have that much wrong with me and just keep planning and doing what I

want..one small bit at a time.

My 23 yr old daughter says I can accomplish more with my slow

methodical plan than she can and she's in perfect health.

Eva, I'm one of those that try to do most everything around the house.

Yes, slow like you said but at least I sit and plan my strategy and try them

out. I can still do most of my housework and cook. The walker does come in

handy to place items on so I can move them from place to place. I sit on the

walker to vacuum the carpet when I have to but most times my husband does it

once a week. You'd be amazed at what you still can do by being inventive. I

don't give up at all. I'm like the energized bunny! keep going and going
