If you don't

mind a curiosity question, did you have chemo at the beginning of it?

If you did, did you know your stats?

Hi Janie,

I had a biopsy. My surgeon thought that all I would need would be radiation,

since the tumor was so small. I then had the lumpectomy and 8 out of 12

nodes were positive. I had a port inserted for the chemo on a Monday, and

started

aggressive chemo on Thursday, Friday, pump over the weekend, more chemo on

Monday. I followed this schedule for 4 treatments, then my doctor changed my

chemo to 3 other ones for an additional 4 treatments. Treatments were every 19

days. He had told me that it would take 6 to 8 months, probably 8 months to

complete the treatment. I did the treatments in 5 months and 1 week. I never

got sick, never lost my appetite. I got very weak, but never gave up. My

oncologist at first told me that I would have to have a bone marrow transplant,

but after my first treatment, he, after consulting with another doctor at the

hospital where transplants are done, decided I would do just as well on the

chemo schedule he had set up for me. After chemo, I had 35 radiation

treatments.

I don't even want to think about the stats he gave me. I knew they were just

that - stats. I proved him wrong.

I had complete faith in God, complete faith in my doctors, always a positive

attitude and I survived.

hugs

Eunice

Thanks, Eunice.

Wow! I also wondered if it was possible for you to work during the

chemo?

Love, and more power to you.
