If I tape a conversation off of my phone to take notes about it, is that still considered against the law? I don't always remember everything, and if I am being lied to, I do not understand how anyone could say it is against the law to catch someone in a blatent lie!!!! It is not like I am trying to entrap them! I think I am going to talk to a police officer that I know from town, and just ask him about it. It is not that I do not believe you, but it makes me so angry that my insurance company can get away with almost anything, and there is almost nothing that we can do about it!! They keep making money and we keep suffering and paying the price for there obvious lies!!!! Again I feel bad about venting, but it just makes me so angry that we all have to pay the price, so that the rich get richer and we suffer and go bankrupt!!!

Someone recently asked me if I thought GOD cared about money! I thought that was a strange question to be asking me. The whole purpose of that was to show me who has money, and does it make them good people and are they really happy! The truth of it is no, because they are the ones that are usually greedy, selfish, and miserable in there lives!! I guess I would like to be a little more financially stable, but I am a happy person, and would never want to become what some of these people with money have become. Okay this conversation has gone way off track, but I guess I just needed to vent about how I have been feeling lately!!

I hope things are well with you and your family! Are you doing anything exciting this weekend? I hope you are feeling well and I will talk to you soon! Take Care and have a wonderful day! LOL

Yes, taping a phone conversation without the other person's knowledge is actually a Federal offense. Barbaradawn lorenz wrote:

Sounds like good advise to me . There should be no reason for doctors

office should not let you know about this. So sorry Dawn, it seems you have

to get almost angry and threaten to get something taken care of instead of

being polite and using manners. Seems things have all been turned upside

down on how to treat people anymore. Keeping you in my prayers my friend.

Thanks and all for your wonderful help. That is what makes this

digest so great.

It is only against the law if you don't ask the person on the other end of the phone line if it is ok first.

When you pick up the phone and answer it, and they say who they are, you can then ask them if they would be against it if you taped the phone call so that you will be able to replay it to remember all what was said.

But, once you pick up the phone, turn the tape player on, so that you can have it on tape when they say yes or no, and if they say no, then shut it off.

Then, if you end up having to go to court, your lawyer can use those tapes for your own benefit against them, because they either refuse to let you tape the conversation, or, if there is anything that they tell you on the phone, but doesn't go thru with what they've said.
