drops without a permission note from a doctor. Any and all

medications muct be in orginal containers and be supplied by the

parents.

In middle school and high school the rules about this lessen. Nurses in

these schools dispense as needed, but will notify parents if a pattern

appears. As teenagers, they need to manage their needs for tylenol, and not

be dependent on parents for dispensing. Drug abuse does not start with

Tylenol.

At our schools, it is not about drug abuse, as much as it is about

liability. I don't know if perhaps a school got sued or what, but if a

child has a reaction to anything and a parent or dr did not give

permission, the school can be held liable. So they are instructed to

give nothing (meds, ointments, etc) without consent. Michele

Patty,

Our schools will not allow any medication without a doctor's note about

frequency etc. They do finally allow the high school students to carry one dose

of Tylenol or whatever but if they give it to their friends (even if it is in

its own individual paper packaging) they will both be expelled!

Congratulations Renate! I'm on disability for major depression too. I've

had fibromyalgia for years and have arthritis now but I got approved for

SSDI on the first try. It really helps when the doctors or lawyers fill out

the paperwork right. I'm so happy for you and I'm sure it's a relief to get

the income!

I don't post often but I got great news. After 10 months, 1 denial, and

hiring a lawyer, I have been approved for SS disability. I was approved more

for the depression than the RA. Just in case any one needs that imformation.

SS sent me to a shrink and paid for it during consideration. I just wanted

to tell some good news for a change.

Congratulations Renate!!!! What a relief. I'm so glad you were approved.

Just for the record, this post is NOT off topic. This is a very ON TOPIC

post. It's only the posts that have nothing to do with our lives with RA

that are OT, such as jokes and recipes.

Thanks for sharing your great news!

Sorry I was so slow to respond to your questions, Lynn!

1) I don't know. It seems to make sense that it would have been removed when

you had surgery, but I would ask your physicians if you are wondering about

it. I'm sure they simply made note of it in the first place because they had

to explain the lesion and rule out cancer.

2) Arteriosclerotic heart disease is commonly called " hardening of the

arteries. " It seems to be related to aging, although there are other risk

factors. Again, I would ask your physicians about it.

In the meantime, here is a good explanation of arteriosclerosis:

Hi ,

Thanks for the information. I have been reading more on my records and

it seems that they didn't remove the lesion. I am going to talk to the

doctor about it. I know I remember them telling me not to worry about when

I was first in the hospital. Now I want to know why I shouldn't worry.

Thank you for the site. I kind of thought that this is what it was, and

that is not so bad.

I just had a birthday and my kids got my a bike. So come spring I am

going to give that a try. I am trying to walk and use the stationary bike

as much as possible. I feel since medication isn't going to help me a lot

maybe moving as much as possible will. I even signed up for a bike class

at the hospital. I am graduating in May so I will have time on my hands.

I was thinking of giving up my disability and trying to work but the rheumy

has advised me against doing this. I have so much to think about a job or

whether I should continue on with more school. What a crossroad to be at

now.

I hope you and the family are well. Again thank you for all the help./

Lynn
