Pretty darn cool, ! Go Ducks! I wonder, as an aggregate school sports

rating, where that places U of O nationally?

I do not know, but I think you would get answer(s) from people who

have done this, if you ask on autism treatment list:

There is also an " arsenicandantimony " group. I *think* that

is how it is spelled but not positive.

May be too late for this reply, but you may not have to chelate the arsenic

as such; increasing glutathione levels through selenium supplementation is

probably the most common mechanism used.

Rhonda,

I went back and re-read the posts, so I see what you are referring to.

No one can argue with your personal experience, so at least you can

offer that. Maybe she has not heard enough personal reports.

I will say though, that my experience with trying to talk to a DAN

doctor at a conference about my son being off the diet with the

Houston enzymes was met with no response, just a smile (I kept

talking anyway). The particular doctor and his friend sell gfcf

videos and books, so maybe that had something to do with it. He was

standing in his booth when I went over and heaped it all on him,

( " Hi, I want to tell you about my son... " ), so I guess I am kind of

naive thinking he would say, " Oh great for you and your child whose

life is dramatically better since getting to leave this stinkin'

diet!!! "

Let us know what happens,

Alice-- at the mention of turn signals in Atlanta, I had to chuckle!! As you

know very well Rhode Islanders HATE to use them here and it DRIVES me up the

wall here!!! Very dangerous to drive here in this state. I am sure that you

would agree with me. Maybe not.

She is sharing some of her writing with me:

" Time hurts

Above all else.

The passage of a vessel

Through space as mere particles;

The speed of time

Makes it a being.

The hurtful sounds

As mere vibrations;

The speed of time

Makes them words.

A fluttery feeling

As chemical reactions;

The speed of time

Makes it love.

A tearing sensation and saltwater droplets

As nothing but instinct;

The speed of time

Makes it pain.

A sense of being, belonging, of self

As only assimilated brainwaves;

The speed of time

Makes it life.

The passage of time

As guilt, fear and regret;

The speed of time

Makes it all nothing. "

Hi,

I was supposed to go to that conference but couldn't afford it. Nor could I

afford the book or CD that my poem was going to be in. So it was great huh?

Glad you had a great time!

Kim, I am sorry I didn't get back to you on this at the time. But my computer died and when I finally got it working again, I had forgotten where I saved it. Anyway, I think her writing shows amazing depth. She is so lucky to have such a beautiful and creative venue through which to vent all the churned up quick changing feelings, that overwhelm many of us at that age. I also think that it shows what a caring mom you are that you have built the kind of relationship where she is comfortable sharing such intimate things. Best wishes to you both, Cherilyn

My prayers will be with you and your daughter Mindy...

How did she do?

Hang in there

Cosy

Hi All,

My daughter Mindy is having surgery as I write this. The surgery

is for the 4th,5th & 6th vertabrae.

Please say a prayer for her.It scares me,because they are going thru the

front of her throat for this, which means the inside will be exposed to air

during surgery.

Thank You in advance. I believe prayers is a powerful thing.

its a question of the amount of mercury

http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/health-public-

affairs/publications/pdf/metalcontam.pdf

most fish looks ok, swordfish and shark are easily the worst but very

small shark might be ok.

iodine and selenium are potent mercury detoxidfyers

i generally avoid fish over a foot long but thats sorta.

the white perch is a fresh water fish? if so then it would depend

where it came from.

Genreally the higher on the food chain the more mercury and other

bio-accumulatives. I'm vegan so I have no idea where perch fits in the food

chain.

Hi , sending prayers for Heidi............she's gonna be okay.....I know how it is, I worry about my babies when they're sick. good luck with the surgery....love, Satya

[ ] OT

Hi All, I hope this letter finds everyone having a good week & healthyfeeling. I'm writing in regards to my rotty Heidi. About 3 days ago Inoticed something in her eye, looking closer I saw it was something growingon her upper left eyelid. It's about a fourth the size of a pea & everytimeshe open & closes her eye it rubs against the eyeball.....ouch-poor girl.I took her to the vet & she is scheduled for surgey this coming tuesday. Sheis the only one left of my original little family that my Honey & I had. I am a worried mom because she will be 12 trs old in may & weighs a 121 lbs.Other than her eye she is in good health.I worry about hernot waking up after surgery. I don't think I could stand that. I know she'sup in age but I don't want to lose her yet. I've lost to many that I love inthis year.If you get time could you say a little prayer for her. Whether you know itor not, your prayers have a lot pull upstairs. Thanking you from the bottomof my heart for my baby girl Heidi. She is such a good sweet dog.Love & Hugs, & her m m Honey's

Hi Patty,

Our school will not give ANYTHING unless the proper paper work has been

filled out by the dr. and exact instructions are labeled on the original

bottle.Until two years ago OTC was not allowed under any circumstances unless

there was

an explicit reason. got his OTC Ibuprofin before lunch but the rheumy

wrote a note and it was put in his IEP.

I think your school is following some good rules but personaly I don't think

they should give anything without the parents consent first.

Hi All:

Our school doesn't dispense any meds without written permission or

prescription, etc. If a child comes in feeling bad to the clinic and the nurse

wants to

give her/him some Tylenol, they have to call and ask the parents permission

ALWAYS. I just had never heard of a school system regulating four doses due to

the liver problem possibility.

Take care.

Hi, Patty. At our schools, the nurse is only allowed to dispense meds if

the child brings it in with drs note. They do not keep anything on hand

to pass out anymore. Michele

OT

Hi Everyone:

I went to Alyssa's high school orientation last night and heard

something I

thought was interesting and wanted to see if other states/counties also

do.

The nurse got up and spoke about her sevices, etc. She stated that she

only

carried Tylenol and that, because of the potential for liver problems,

was

only allowed to give a child Tylenol four times a month. I know all

about

Tylenol Toxicity as this is what led to my brother's multiple organ

failure and

hospitalization for three months this past fall/winter. Has anyone

else's school

system or individual school started this too?

Take care.

Patty
