On the day that I take Fosamax, I have to wait at least 30 minutes before eating/drinking anything. Waiting that 30 minutes seems like an hour. The type that is best to reduce glucose levels is moderate, steady exercise for at least 20 minutes to a half hour. If you can keep it up for an hour a day, it will probably help you to lose weight (highly desirable in many Type IIs). I try to avoid any " aerobic " exercise if my bg is already over 150 and I'll go for a walk instead.

Guest guest
I must just be weird. LOL The only things I've found that jump up my numbers signifigantly are rice, white bread products and regular sugar. Caffiene doesn't. Sugar alcohols don't. Corn doesn't. Neither do peas or squash. I've not tried real potatoes, but the reconstituted flakes do zip to my numbers. (My theory is my body doesn't recognized that over-processed gook as potatoes. LOL! ) Then again, I know exactly what caused my diabetes other than bad genetics: 800-1600 calories of real sugar in Coca-cola daily for years. Now that those calories and sugars are gone, I'm finding I get too low on my meds and have thus dropped them. At two weeks out (the amount of time it took for them to get the BG down) I'm still not testing over 120 and I feel better than I did when I was constantly getting readings of 70-90. I know it isn't the exercise doing it because I'm not getting enough. The up and down weather lately has had me down too much and unable to exercise. Aazari The Art of Jolie E.
