Guest guest
Tonia, I just read that you've started walking. I think that's wonderful, not just for weight loss, but because I think the healthier your body is, the less you feel the results of the RSD/Fibro. My opinion, of course. I know that when I am doing some exercise, whatever it is, I feel much better, have a better mental attitude to deal with the pain, etc. I have not been able to do too much walking lately (other than the AIDS walk, which was 10k), as I've been having lots of problem with back/hip pain. I do try and take Jake for a walk when he comes to visit. Drs. are trying to figure out exactly what it is. Have some bulging discs, but not bad enough to warrant the pain I'm in. He's doing a block or radio frequency on Friday, see if that helps some. Of course, if the pool ever gets finished, I will start to swim and hopefully that will help too. Hugs, Jo

Guest guest
Most I've read about in this forum, including myself, are forced to start walking the night of surgery. So really your surgeon/doctors want you exercising right away. I was walking a mile a day within a few days even in the dead of winter. I was told to start lifting weights after four weeks. My skin is drooping I think. I'm not really drooping on the areas that I'm getting toned with. I should probably effort to do some situps sometimes. Needless to say my exercise could be better developed. I would think better toning on my part could help it but I'm able to accept some drooping. I'd rather spook others with drooping skin than have them afraid I was going to break their furniture when I'm around.
