I used to go barefoot all the time too before we moved to our ranch and I discovered what grassburrs are. They used to get imbedded in the carpet and, of course, I'd find them with my feet. So I bought a pair of Birkenstock sandals and started wearing them in the house. Plus you can also wear them outside if you need to go out and don't want to take time to put on " normal " shoes. They are extremely comfortable and provide good support for the feet, too. Probably as close to barefoot as a person can get without actually being barefoot. I also wear them in winter with socks. We've had the carpet removed now, but I still wear the Birkenstocks. Amber
Guest guest
I am barefoot most of the time in the house. I have tile floors. I am unable to get socks on my feet myself. Bad back and can't bend over and do it. I have sandels I slip on in the summer and shoes i can slip into the winter. Unable to were sneakers though or anything like that due to the swelling of my feet. I take florsemide for the deema. (not sure on spelling). My feet use to bother me alot, however have gottrn very calassed on the bottem and don't bother me anymore so I don't worry about them. They have large deep cracks on my heals that bleed from time to time. but don't hurt. so not worried about them. On ocassions when my kids are home with me though. they help by getting socks on my feet. Otherwise I am mostly barefoot as my feet are swollen too often to get anything on them. Guest guest
, if you haven't seen a podiatrist yet, you should do so ASAP. Re: barefoot I am barefoot most of the time in the house. Guest guest
I know my doctor prescribed support stockings for me for the same reasons: edema. My problem is I don't wear them as much as I should because they tend to be uncomfortable. Ken GreyEagle -- barefoot Have you ever tried to wear support stockings or socks? I'm surprised that maybe your doctor hasn't mentioned you trying this.
