Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 June, what a terrible thing to have to go though with everything else you're been faced with lately. An angel must have been sitting on your shoulder, luckily you didn't get hurt. The teenager at least stopped to see if you were OK it showed he was sensuously sorry. I've never depended on people stopping at those kind of stop sign in fact I wave them on. Just the fact that they are waiting on me and looking makes me stiffen up. All the crying you've done and the stress takes the wind out of your sail no wonder you're tried. Tell your husband to let you take the day off. Call for help and get some rest today and tomorrow!...................Flora Quote
Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 June bug, Oh my goodness, I can't imagine all that you have, and continue to go through. I couldn't help but think, like you, that you were indeed fortunate to have had a helping hand from above to move you out of the way. I'm glad the young man felt remorse, and it probably scared him out of his wits and he needed YOU to hug him and I'll bet he'll watch closer from now on. Good that the store manager also was there and drove your car home and that your daughter was close by. Sounds like you are having a major meltdown and maybe crying will be good medicine to relieve all that has built up. You do need a break...it's not an option, you HAVE to take of yourself. Maybe you could find someone to come at least a couple days a week; it'd be a good investment. Quote
Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Lordy Lordy June Bug You just lived through the nightmare I've been having everytime I go to the Superstore. Seriously!!! I am so glad you were 'delivered' from this one. Please go today and file an incident report with the police as well as with the grocer. Pedistrians ALWAYS have the right-of-way!!!! Do this for many reason. The number one being if this terror continues to linger you need the documentation so insurance can assist you in dealing with this. Praise God your daughter lives close enough to come to your aid. If it had been me, I would still be sobbing in my car with my body trembling too bad to drive. You have to be living on RAW nerves at this point. Time to yell for help. Call in those recruits and give yourself time to recoveer this incident. Even soldiers in combat have to take timeout...and it sure sounds to me like you've been in combat lately. Eva in WV Quote
Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 What a terrifying experience. I'm just glad that you weren't physically hurt. I'm sure in your state you didn't get the driver's insurance info or license plate number, but perhaps the store manager or a witness did. The least he should do is pay for the lost groceries. In additon to filing an incident report with the police, contact your own insurance company and tell them what happened. That young man is guilty of reckless driving and even if you don't press charges, he should have some sort of punishment to remind him to be more careful. I wonder if he was distracted by a cell phone, radio or something else. Once you've taken care of all this, lie down for a while and regroup. Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Dear June bug, OH sweetie, that is horrendous what you went through but I do believe God must have pulled you away because we can't jump. When we went to Virginia, my friend and I to Teamwalk two years ago, the car just completely died on a busy highway and she said she felt like God just got it off the side of the road because there was no steering or anything. I am sure glad you are OK and you just rest today and take care of yourself. Thank God the teen was at least remorseful for what happened, but that still doesn't change you being scared and upset. BIG HUGS!!! Sue Me but I am so blessed to be able to write all of you this > story. Love June bug > > > Quote
Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 Whew! That was close. You will be no good to your husband in the shape you are in. You need a few days away without feeling guilty. Even if you have to pay someone for staying with him it will be well worth it. My husband went away with my youngest son for 9 days. My daughter only stayed with me overnight while he was away, but he came back so refreshed. You know I was happy for him because I know this isn't easy for him either. A few days isn't going to hurt him. I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. Let go and let God, will ya, at least for a few days. I'll be in prayers, remember that. God Bless Yolanda I must share this with ya'll - my buddies Last night I had a horrible experience at Publix grocery store. I was walking across the front of the store parking lot to put my groceries in the car and as I started to cross - with my buggy full- a big LARGE pick up truck did not stop where he should have stopped and had turned heading my way and he had not seen me and he was going to run over me, buggy and all and I had no time to move my buggy with my groceries and I had to leap over to the curb or I did something, I think God picked me up and put me on the grass as it happened soooooo fast, the truck ran completely over all the groceries and the buggy and I could have touched the truck he was so close to me, I could just see me run over completely with that truck and I would have been killed. It was raining and I just ran to my car - left everything in the street, truck, grocery buggy all crumbled up - my billfold - I ran and jumped in my car and cried my heart out - I was so scared and my head had a pain in it - I thought I was having a stroke - I am 69 yrs old and I was so scared that I had almost been hit, all I could do was cry and cry and the store manager had seen it all and he ran after me and the teen ager came after me and was so sorry he did not see me - he asked me to please hug his neck and I did as I know he was so sorry. And I have cried all day today as I am so tired from not sleeping and then that happening also, I called my daughter on car phone and she came right over to the store and drove me home and the store manager drove my car home and my husband was so shocked and upset, but I am so blessed to be able to write all of you this story. Guest guest Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 Yes Ms. Edith, he was written a " warning " ticket as the Sheriff's office was called and he did $500.00 worth of damage to his big black truck and yes he was on the cell phone, he was a teen ager and the Deputy got all the info on him. He was truly sorry and so upset also. Thanks June bug Quote

I am going to hurry to bed now as he is asleep and I want to hop in the bed before he wakes up again. I have hurt my shoulder someway, it is so painful, I have been seeing our Orthopedic and thank goodness it is not a rotator cuff I don't think (He said not) but I go back tomorrow and I have been going to the chiropactor too that I go to for 47 yrs. If so please let me know. Lots of love June bug and I am off to bed, had my hot bath and linament on my shoulder. Quote
Guest guest Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 Wow June bug that sounds great, I was really starting to worry about you. It sure does a body good to get a good nights sleep. Maybe Charlie was going through what a baby does at times at not sleeping at night and sleeping all day. Maybe he will be back on track with his sleeping. Sweet dreams, Love Sandy Re: I must share this with ya'll - my buddies Hi Sandy, you are the best, I will just tell you this.....Monday afternoon late, I told my husband " in jest " that " look let's just pretend that we are never going to sleep again at night and we will just sleep in the daytime when his legs are not jumping and thats the way we will survive and he laughed and blah blah. Guest guest Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 Hi , thank you for your sweet e-mail. I just love all of you sooooooo much and thank you for helping me out as a caregiver. Guess what!!! I have hurt my left shoulder some way and it is driving me crazzy with pain. I have been to the orthopedic twice and the chiropractor also and they are saying it is from pulling on Charlie or etc. with the loading and unloading of the electric wheel chair even though it is a ramp on the back of my car I still have to unhook the straps and etc. and this week Charlie had to go to the dentist twice for caps that came off unexpectedly and to a funeral and to a law enf. luncheon and to a football luncheon and whew!!!!! I have rubbed my shoulder with so many ointments and euclypus(?) oil and hot baths and heating pads all night - please say a prayer that it will soon heal. I also have had massages once a week on it. They say it is in my " Rhomboid ? muscle???? Anyway love to all of you. June bug Quote
Guest guest Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 Thank you Ms. Edith, I was just doing sorta what everybody else would have done, even though I was hysterical and crying my heart out cause I just knew I had been run over and I was up in heaven crying and crying but thank you Lord, I am feeling a little better even though I have hurt my left shoulder soooooooo bad, the pain is unreal. Love all of you June bug Quote
Guest guest Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 Flora I am not sure, I have been keeping a diary every day, but for some reason I was sooooooo wore out and had decided we would never sleep again that I am just not sure but I wish it would happen again as his legs have been jumping for about 3 or 4 days and he just went to sleep for awhile. Guest guest Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 OK Ms. Sandy, I will send you a copy of us doing our jazz routine in competition in Orlando - " The Hot Flashes " , it is soooooooooo funny, and I am the worst one for me to have taught dancing a 100 yrs ago (back in the '50's) anyway I will send you a copy. Love to you June bug Quote
Guest guest Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 Hey there Ms. June bug I cant wait to see your copy of jazz. I am so sorry to hear about your shoulder, is it because of haveing to jump out of the way of that teenager? If so I would surely turn it into the insurance co. Its too bad that Charlie is having problems again. I am not sure where it was that you live, but I do have a question for you. Does your state have the medical marijuana? We have it here, the only time I use it is at bedtime to help with the spacticity and sleep. June bug since I have started I sleep so much better, just a thought. Love, Sandy Quote
Guest guest Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 June, Has anyone suggested using an ice pack on it? This is what is frequently done after 2-3 days of heat treatment. Just place some crushed ice, or a frozen package of peas or corn, on the area for about 15 minutes at a time. More than this may cause frostbite. Wait about 15 minutes and do it again. Do this about 3 times. Try to do it about 4 times per day, but 3 will be sufficient most of the time. Hope this helps the discomfort. Mike Gray (Probably no relation.) Guest guest Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Thanks Mike, you will never know how many times I have grabbed a bag of vegetables...ha ha and put on an injury and you are sooooooooo right about everything. It is a great pain reliever, but nothing has helped for about 3 weeks. Yesterday I had an MRI (my orthopedic ordered it) and I almost did not make it. I cannot stand to be closed in and I had to really cope with it for 30 min. I will know something hopefully this Monday. Thanks for your help though. bye for now June bug Quote
