Guest guest
Hi June Bug, So sorry about your husband's spasms. I've never had severe spasms but was first diagnosed with Stiffman Syndrome by one of the best neuros. Stiffman's main sympton is severe spasms, so severe that sometimes bones would break. Also, symptons were very similiar to PLS with the startle, hyperreflexes, stiff gait, etc. Hope they get him some relief pronto! Guest guest
June bug, I am so sorry to hear about Charlie having such problems. That has to be so hard on him and yourself. What has his neurologist said about this? I have never had to go to the E.R for spasms, but I did get them pretty bad before I started on Neurotin. Take care, I hope tomarrow is a better day, hugs, Sandy Have any of ya'll ever had to go by ambulance for spasms in the legs? Hi this is June and I was wondering have any of ya'll (PLS) ever had to call the ambulance to come and take you to the hospital for muscle spasms so severe in your legs or lower parts that you had to call the ambulance to take you. Well we have been many times for Charlie my husband and last night was a night for the ambulance as my daughter and I cannot get his legs to straighten out so he can get in his wheel chair to go to hospital for morphine/valium which is what they always give him so could ya'll let me know what you do please. Thanks ever so much. June bug in Tallahassee

Guest guest
Ms. June, How long has Charlie had PLS?? I've had severe spasms but not for too long and not bad enough to go to hosp. Most of the time, I put pressure on the affected limb and it ceases. I've had PLS for about 5 years supposedly. I sure hope he gets past it. This stuff is apparently affects us all in many different but similar ways. I ache severely most mornings and am real weak. Seems after an afternoon nap (30 min), I get much better. I take KLONIPIN and ZANAFLEX for stiffness/spasm control. I take abot 10-12 mgs a day of Zanaflex and maybe 1-1.5 mgs of Klonipin. I know my reply probably doesn't help any, but it's my situation anyway. I sure hope he gets better with it. My wife and I will be thinking of you guy's as we attend service this morning. in Chipley Have any of ya'll ever had to go by ambulance for spasms in the legs?
