Melinda,

My mother had laparoscopic

bariatric surgery, when she told me she was having it, I WAS NOT happy because

I just didn’t understand why she just could lose weight like I had. But I

knew that she had lost a significant amount of weight only to gain it back,

then last January she stopped smoking and gained a lot of weight, eventually I

begin to feel that this was a viable option for her, although the fear was

still there…

You’re not

going to believe what’s going on with the job situation…. Every interview

I went on I got… I opted to go for the position that’s 5 or so

blocks away from home, that way I can walk to and from work and I don’t

have to worry too much about transportation, it’s it’s part time,

so I’m able to continue with my classes. As for my appeal, I got a check

last week, and will continue to receive checks as long as I am waiting for a

decision... my lawyer says things look very good.

Tyra,

I am sorry--I didn't know your mom was going to have surgery.

What type

did she have? I will be praying for her, you and your

brothers.

PLease keep us posted.

And yes, I think, what you told the med student was VERY

appropriate

for several reasons. And if he truly thinks a lot of

you, it

shouldn't have bothered him.

Take care,

hon, What is the latest on the job search?

Hugs,

Melinda

Congratulations on the job! I had a feeling that you would shine on every interview!

I know that there are some things to be concerned about with the bariatic surgery but you have to be confident that there has been lots of counseling and testing to see that your Mom was a good candidate. I hope she does beautifully with the surgical aftermath. (I'm almost envious! I'm overweight but not enough for the bariatic surgery to be an option.)

Glad you will continue to get checks for a while...but if you have a full time job, will you actually qualify for the disability payments?

I hope your Mom does well with the weight. I know the first few

weeks are very hard. We haven't heard much from Deb lately, but she

had bariatric surgery and did well with it.

OH! Meant to add, congrats on the job. It's excellent that it

allows you to continue school and that it's so close to home. Good

luck with your ss appeal.
