Guest guest
Thanks, Bruce. As soon as I read your message I dumped the rest of the pie and took a 10 minute walk outside. I have made some better choices the rest of the day and my blood sugar has come down nicely. Maybe a few bad days can be turned around and I won't have to wrestle with the doctor about increasing my meds. " , Bruce " wrote: > Get the 'bad stuff' out of the house. Guest guest
I like to look at each day as a new one. I will not beat myself up for the day before. Honestly, because there is nothing I can do about it. I can make today the best day, and If something goes wrong, I move on... I think that you have the right Idea here =) Angelia in OR ----- Original Message ----- From: " Gale Welden " > > Thanks, Bruce. Guest guest
HI Gale, I too struggle (ask anyone here). When I feel like im out of control the thing that gets me back in control most is Journaling. To write it all down. It really gives you a idea on what you are eating. I count calories mainly for control. That seems to be what my body wants most. For me to eat very small portions. Also Bruce's get it out of the house is good and to bring it back in the house too. That is...good healthy foods. For me that is fresh veggies and fruits and nice grains and lean meats. And ..a few goodies too. I try to keep my goodies 100 calories. Diet hot chocolate is nice :-) Hugs sus See the Beauty in Being Different! ><{{{{{o> ><{{{{{o> <o)))))>< ><{{{{o> ><{{{{{o> http://www.geocities.com/msberks/Index.html -----Original Message----- From: Gale Welden Hello all-- I have my A1c coming up on Dec.14 and I really need to get back into consistently good numbers pronto. Any inspiration, support, admonishments you send my way might help. Please, how do you rein yourself in when the goodies are calling your name? I thought I was way beyond this foolishness................ Gale who just ate two slices of pumpkin pie (no crust) at 10am--yikes!!!
Guest guest
Hi.. I had a little call back into reality today at the eye doctor. I've been dx type 2 only 18 months or so and so far, so good. Not perfect, but not awful. My last A1c was 6.4, my morning fasting BS is about 120-130. BUT I only have one kidney (cancer) so that is a concern for the future, and the future is created by what we do today. I've noticed my distance vision has been blurring, so went to the eye dr. He and I have been in a relationship for years..maybe 15 years. He knows my entire family, and cares for us. So when he gave me the " speech " today about needing to get serious with the diabetes or I will go blind..it made me cry! He thinks this change in vision is probably diabetes related because BOTH eyes changed equally and in the past it's usually not the case. He looked at my eyes though and they look fine " so far " so that was good. Everything he said is true and it's scary and it's depressing. But I get the feeling that he thinks it's so easy to just control what you eat.when it's such a psychological challenge for me (always overweight, family all overweight, food is way too important to us). I am very overweight and have heard this story all my life, of course. He said if my eyes changed this much each year, in ten years I'd be in trouble (at age 60 by then). It was no fun at all. But I know he's right. :-( Maralee >^..^< I too struggle (ask anyone here). When I feel like im out of control the thing that gets me back in control most is Journaling. To write it all down.
