While at the PLS Symposium I had a chance to meet an awesome

neurologist in the Vermont area. He is Sue Niquette's neuro.

Tanden, Rup – UVM College of Medicine, VT

I would highly recommend him.

> A new PLSer has contacted me asking for a name of a neurologist in

his area who is familiar with PLS. He lives in northern Vermont.

Does anyone have any suggestions that I can pass along?

Dolores:

Being from NH, I can only relate to both of my neurologist, Dr.

Neal In Bedford, NH and recently Dr. of the Lahey Clinic in

Burlington, MA. As you know, since my diagnosis in 1986, have not been

running from doctor to doctor, and have only been to Dr. Neal (and

recently Dr. representing the MDA), and have adjusted my

lifestyle accordingly. What is this person looking for? Is he willing

to drive a couple of hours to meet with these doctor who know PLS and

are honest and upfront about having PLS, no false promises and not money

grabber's (no offense intended).

I'd be more than glad to give him there telephone number's.

Rita

Till next time!

I went to the cardiologist today for the loop monitor. I frankly don't feel it

is much different than the event monitor. I do not press the record button

until I feel the flip flop and, by then it is gone. Can someone explain how

this monitor is any better? Thanks, Kathy

Re: need help

Hi Kathy:

I am so sorry I'm late with a welcoming response to you; especially

one that's entitled *need help*. And I also noticed you are leaving

for Dallas for ten days. Hopefully, you'll have access to a

computer while there.

We are not a medical site, and with your history of heart disease

and double by-pass surgery, I hesitate to even suggest that it

sounds like Afib; but how about seeing an electrophysiologist, a/k/a

EP?

An electrophysiologist is a cardiologist with special training in

diagnosing, managing, and treating abnormal heart rhythms; an

electrophysiologist is specially trained in the relationships of

body functions to electrical phenomena in the body.

Again, we welcome you - and when you return home, send us an update.

Ellen
