Guest guest
Christy, Yes, it's a bromeliad. Yes you can plant it in the garden. Yes it likes watering from the top into the cups. It can be quite attractive in the right place in the garden. They can send out suckers to make more plants as well but do not "overtake" the garden. All they said when they delivered it (like I remember anything else that day!) was water it at the leaves and fill the "cups" in the leaves with water. A friend of mine said it's a bromeliad (she pronounces is bromelaid... brom-a-laid not bro-mill-ee-ad) btu I looked those up and it doesn't look the same and it says those are air plants. This one is planted in soil and it's huge. Do I need to transplant it? Can I plant it in the ground outside? How big does it get? It already looks too big for the container. Guest guest
Christy - I have no idea what they are, they look like they're in the same genus as the bromelia(d)'s tho.
Guest guest
Looks like a bromiliad that I had two years ago. That said, LOL, I HAD it, don't HAVE it. So I don't know what to do with it. Guest guest
The big mama in the planter. The leafy one with the big center. RE: Ugly plant OK if it's an air plant, why so the babies grow roots? Do I take it out of the pot it's in and turn it over to see if there are any babies? Since it has a bloom on it (and it's been there since I got it a year ago) does that mean it's going to die? Which plant are you talking about here?? The one you just got or the ones in the planter??
