I heard there's little exterior cups to wear too instead of tampons or napkins.

Haven't had that problem for about 25 years now tho since my hysterectomy. What

a relief!! What do you do with the sox? Pin them inside the panties?

I don't think there are too many men folk at this site, so I'll just go for

it:

Myth or not after reading the site, tampons still sound pretty crappy like I

suspected they were.

Tampons are further known to contain mercury, just like feminine gels,

spermicidals, hemmerhoid cremes, band-aids etc....it is used under a

different name as an anti microbial.

I wonder if the cotton tampons are Hg fee? I seriouslly doubt it.

Being that toxicity is such a HUGE issue in healing, I pretty much decided

to go back to the old fashioned way of doing things...the way my mom said

they used to do.

Being " on the rag " was what it was called because women used rags, and I am

using just that. Of course, it is easier to do when you are home alone, but

I figured that any place I can cut down on toxicity, it will help bring me

jsut that much closer to being freer of toxins and and my body will be

that much happier.

Not to gross you all out, but I found that old, heavy cotton socks work real

nicely.

I've heard the same thing - regular store brand tampons contain

dioxin pollution caused by chlorine bleaching, and rayon. There is

also the extensive use of pesticides on conventionally grown cotton

to consider. I buy a brand called Natracare - it is made from only

certified organic cotton that is not chlorine bleached and they are

free of rayon, plastics and synthetic materials. I switched when I

found out that store brand tampons can increase your risk of

cervical cancer. You can buy Natracare products at most health food

stores or online. I get mine online because it's a better deal to

buy in bulk.

Seems like these would be awfully messy to change!

I think you mean a Keeper. It's made from natural gum rubber so if you have

a latex allergy, beware. I've used one for years & love it. You wear it

internally, like a tampon.

Ah! They have another one now made from silicon. Now I have heard there

are nasties used in silicone production, but if you're allergic to latex

this may be an option......
