Guest guest
Patti: God bless you and your family: you have been here from day #1 and I commend you with all the effort you have made to bring our children to wellness and healing. I have been on this SCD list for almost a year and can remember when Elaine was a daily presence and this list was so, so small in comparison to today. Given that Elaine has thrown her hat into the Autism One and DAN! " ring " , as it were, you can certainly understand the frustration that is arising in that the SCD is so " integral " in the recovery, yet the " whole " of the effective recovery modalities cannot be discussed on this list. Like Kim, I also have a big heart and would like to assist as many families as possible given that our son has made such incredible strides with what we are implementing and know that others would benefit from our knowledge base. It would be wonderful if we could come up with a list that pertains to SCD & ASD so that more children can be helped to full recovery (there are thousands that need this resource). I would be willing at this time to assist in this matter. Although I am well-read at the natural approaches to autism (ie: homeopathy, commencing my formal training in July), I have maintained a basic diet of eggs, meat and veggies for my son so the intricacies of the SCDiet, in creative terms, evade me. Suggestions? Jacquie This is an SCD list...... but is not really an autism list. Yes, the majority of list members are ASD families..... but.... it is really, more specifically, a children's SCD list. It's for any and all children (and their parents/caregivers) who have gut disorders, such as UC, Crohn's, etc..... not just for kids with autism. Guest guest
<<It would be wonderful if we could come up with a list that pertains to SCD & ASD>> Jacquie, All I can say is that there are already a number of autism lists that discuss all kinds of healing/recovery modalities.... SCD being one of those topics. I know that this particular list will remain as it is..... dedicated to SCD for all kids who need it. Ours is the only one that has approval from Elaine.... and to whom we can turn with difficult cases and questions..... and I know she would not agree to having this list become one that is exclusively for autism. At one point, there was a separate list for beginners but it was too much workload for the number of people trying to moderate both. I would just hope that everyone can remember how overwhelming it is when you're new to SCD... you need to focus on that subject in order to learn all you can about implementing it correctly. There are a ton of questions and concerns at that point. It really is essential for those parents to have a source of info that is dedicated to SCD.... and doesn't go off into many different directions. At least, that's my opinion. I know that, as someone suggested yesterday I think, the Healing Crow group is one that is an SCD list but is really open to all kinds of other discussion and divergence from topic. That *might* be a good place for some to turn.... it's an advanced list but has the benefit of some very knowledgeable and seasoned SCD veterans there to answer questions. There won't be a perfect fit for everyone on any one list. Another issue is all the parents that take the digest form of our list. The volume of mail from this list is so overwhelming that quite a few people have no choice but to take the digest. Every time someone forgets to trim a post to the most relevant info, posts something off topic, posts a short response without trimming off the entire string of original posts, etc.... it makes the digest just PAINFUL to get through. I feel so sorry for anyone who is trying to read the list that way! My apologies to all of you digest subscribers that you're even having to read THIS! I'll head back to the pool now.... where I have Katera AND both my granddaughters (ages 4 & 2) splashing up the place. Patti

Guest guest
if you're not in good with max the scd poster dog you are in trouble. basically the board has the same issues as scd info, too med oriented. i cannot understand the mentality that derives social status from seeing doctors and getting operations there are some occasional very useful posts. > > <<It would be wonderful if we could come up with a list that pertains to SCD & ASD>> > > > I know that, as someone suggested yesterday I think, the Healing Crow group is one that is an SCD list but is really open to all kinds of other discussion and divergence from topic.
