Guest guest
Hello to all, With a million thoughts running through my mind I have many questions. Did you all get clearance from your personal doctors for this procedure? Are clean bills of health required and what is a considered a clean bill of health in this situation? Were you encouraged or discouraged by your doctors? The doctor I saw last week, who is a new doctor for me as my old and trusted baby doctor is not taking patients at this time as he is deeply involved in getting our new hospital built. So I had to choose a new one. The new one pointed out many health risks for a women my age wishing to bear children and the small chance of concieving after a reversal. I caught the drift that maybe she thought I was a coo coo bird for considering this, given the 5 I already have. Did anyone experience a doctor who really didn't think you should be doing this? If so, what did you do? Are counseling and mental health tests required? I'm guessing some of you already have experiences with Dr. Levine and his care. What were the costs for you? I do believe things happen for a reason. I have 5 sisters. Only one of whom I am very close with. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky. Strange. I have not asked for my operative report from my tubal ligation yet but understand this is something I must do. What did you do with this report? Fax it to Dr. Levine to see if this procedure was an option for you? or did you get consultation first from another gynocologist? I have more but don't need to write a book all at once I guess! Thanks, Alice - novice
Guest guest
Alice,Follow your heart and don't worry about what others think. As far as your Dr. so many of them are not up to date about tr's. All they know is what used to be. Thats why i waitd so long cuz i had always heard its the worst surgery you can have and % are low. Thank God I found this site.I'm 39 had the falope ring tl in 1988 and Dr.levin gave me 80 to 85% chance.I was pg first mo.My lentghs were 7cm each side.so it can and does happen for many of us.Tell your DR. to look up DR Levins site and get more info thats updated cuz he doesn't know what hes talking about. MyDr. was supportive and ordered the fsh test I wanted (cuz of my age)and never told me I was to old. The surgery is not bad.My knee surgery was horrible.I've never had a c-sec but I'm not scared if I have to know after this surgery. Dr.Levins site has the procedures and fax # you need to get started. Just fax him your op report and pathology report and e-mail address and he'll get a hold of you in a few days and let you know if he thinks you are a good canidate. And then schedule your consultation with him and he'll answer your ? and tell you what he thinks your chances are. No mental health test are required.I think if you are fairly healthy and have reg periods you have a better chance but Dr.Levin follows up with you and has meds etc to help you concieve if you have problems. Ask any ? you want there is many women on here anxious to help you. Good luck on your journey.
