Guest guest
I've found that I've survived without coffee by frequent exercising. If I sit around for very long without standing up and walking around a little (maybe even as little as two minutes) I really get drowsy. I still crave caffiene, but I stay away from it for a few reasons. Most importantly, I've been told that it is an appetite stimulant and slows down weight loss. The other compelling reason is that coffee, well laxitates me, makes my BM's less solid and more frequent. Also, I really have found that while one cup of coffee wakes me up for a while, 20 to 30 minutes of walking helps me stay awake longer and I really feel better. Also, they say that caffiene can cause damage to the " pouch " after surgery, so that's even more incentive for me to stay away from coffee. So, I battle the coffee cravings with exercise. I think I've described my daily exercise schedule before, but here it is (again). I get up in the morning and pedal on my exercise bike for 35 minutes every day. Weekdays, at work, I take a 25 minute brisk walk around 10 am. Afternoons, at work, I take another 15 minute walk. Evenings, 3 times a week, it's my 30 minute workout at Curves and the other nights, I'm on my exercise bike for another 35 minutes. Sometimes, I miss the evening bike, and on weekends I miss the mid day walks (I don't like walking around my neighborhood), but that's my routine. Down from my soapbox, now. --Sandi > Thanks Sandi, I thought all of that stuff too, and I really can't give up coffee right now as I've gone back to school so that I can take on another career at the age of 55. Alcohol has never been an issue with me, and I could stop drinking it today with no problem. The cafeine will be a little more difficult,
Guest guest
Hi thanks for the information about your exercise routine. I'm not even halfway there yet, not even a quarter. Guest guest
I could not give up my coffee. I tried!! But I did switch to decaffeinated and limit myself to two cups a day...one in the morning and one in the evening before bed. I do not do caffeine at all. Anyways, it works for me. Havent had caffeine in almost 2 years now!!
