Could someone please give me specific details about how to make

ketchup. I understand the process but I can't get the seasoning

right. My daughter will eat most anything so if she won't eat it

then it really is gross!!

Pour a can of tomato juice in a large skillet

Place on stove on low-medium heat so that it simmers

add 3 tablespoons of vinegar

salt and pepper to taste

add garlic and onion powder to taste

simmer until it gets thick

remove from heat

sweeten to taste with sacharin or honey

The only think I would add to this is that onion powder and garlic powder will

contain some starch to avoid caking. If you are avoiding these powdered forms

of seasoning for this reason, you can use fresh garlic and fresh onnion. I've

been using the minced onions and dehydrrated garlic as the packaging shows just

'onions' and just 'garlic' in the ingredients. This is a personal decision - I

imagine some might be concerned about hidden starch, but this was a compromise I

felt was ok for us. :)
