Guest guest
" I can not believe the amount of cantalope balled up in his bowel movement. .... He is constipated. I am still waiting on the magiusium citrate. After reading one of the post about the kirkman C I made a changed to an ester C as of yesterday. " Lynn, I am a bit confused. Was there actually undigested cantaloupe in his stool? Also, I must have missed something about the Kirkman Vit. C. There is nothing wrong with it to my knowledge, unless they have changed the ingredients in the last few weeks. What does he eat now and how is it prepared? Guest guest
Lynn, I understand about the vitamin C now. You are free to use anything you think works best. I was just making sure that the ingredients hadn't changed in the Kirkman's. I didn't want anyone to think it is illegal. As for the undigested food in the stools, I would really consider using digestive enzymes with each meal and snack. It is not good for food to be in the stools. It means that their bodies have not broken down the food and were therefore unable to get any nutrition from the food. Are you peeling and cooking all foods at this point? Guest guest
Lynn, Perhaps your son was reacting to the bromelain or papain in the Kirkman enzyme. Some kids are sensitive to those. You might try an enzyme that doesn't have those in it such as AFP peptizyde. My boys tried Creon ages ago (long before SCD) and it didn't help them. If you saw that it helped your kids, please post the ingredients from the label and we will try to help you figure ou whether it is legal or not. Guest guest
I'll have to look into those ingredients. Did the doctor/pharmacist say that opening the capsules was okay? With a delayed release product, the capsules are designed to prevent the contents from disolving until they reach a certain point in the GI tract. Just curious if removing the capsules affects the viability. Jody mom to -5 and -7 SCD 18 months
