Guest guest Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Let me reintroduce myself. I lurked on the board during the spring and asked a few questions here in there preparing to put my 5yo son on the diet. The emails became overwhelming so I left until the summer (when I decided would be easier to start the diet). Now I have cold feet and need to be pushed off the diving board so to speak!!! Caleb is 5yo and is very high functioning and dx with asperger's syndrome. His biggest issue is oral sensitivity and we see an OT weekly. I am now introducing the SCD legal foods through OT and it has not been easy. I've been waiting for the perfect time to start and have come to realize there is no good time so I will set a day and go " cold turkey. " caleb has a bloated belly most of the time but no diarrhea and no tummy pain. He has tested allergic to corn, eggs, dairy, wheat to name the biggies. He has been gluten free casein free for almost 2 years. He has been a champ about not eating any illegal foods and I just feel terrible to take away his coveted mcdonalds fries and golden flake potato chips . Any advice or moral support would be greatly appreciated!!! marilyn Carroll- mom to 5yo Caleb gfcf almost 2yrs (asperger's) and 3yo NT Quote
