Guest guest
4 grains is a real great dose and that's about what the human thyroid manufactures anyway, so no wonder you feel good. i can't remember what my labs are but at last check a month ago my tsh was 1.0something and my t3 and t4 were " in range " but on the low to mid range of normal. i have a very comprehensive blood result coming in a week or so. i'll post that. baron > > > Hello, I wondered if people might share their labs with me? Guest guest
Fee, if you feel well, THANK GOD, and don't rock the boat! My last tests when I was taking 4.5 grains Armour I was at .01 TSH and I can't remember my T4 but it was mid range and my T3 was b;elow range. I am now taking 7 grains and 37.5 mcg Cytomel. I may test when I can afford it, but symptoms are THEE one most important thing. If your heart rate is healthy, your body temp normal, bowels normal, blood pressure normal.. Guest guest
Thanks Baron! It's great to hear 4 grains is about what the thyroid does anyway as I had mine removed (sub-totally) in 1998 so I'm happy to be getting finally getting it all back and making up for lost time! I spent 5 long post-op years in hypo hell on just 75mcgs thyroxine and was virtually suicidal by the time I got on Armour last December. I felt majorly hypo even when my TSH was 2. My Mum's 75 and Hypo and her TSH is supressed, if the TSH goes up she gets major stomach problems, constipation and trapped wind and is in agony. I'm just trying to not be on too much as I want to be on tip top form for trying to conceive again. My doc is great though, he doesn't care about bloods, he just goes off symptoms and physical exams of temp, blood press, pulse. He's ace. > 4 grains is a real great dose and that's about what the human thyroid manufactures anyway, so no wonder you feel good.
Guest guest
I love the shaking paper test. Mine didn't shake at all, and my last TSH was 0.001, and I have upped my dose since that then. Who is your doc Debbie? I live in Boca. nne _____ From: Debra Eastman Sent: Wednesday, October 20, 2004 9:19 AM To: NaturalThyroidHormones Subject: TSH - supressed or not? TSH - supressed or not? Hi Fee, I have Hashi's and have a suppressed TSH also. Here's my last test 8/17/04 TSH <0.004 L uIU/mL 0.350 -5.500 T4 Free, Direct 1.21 ng/dL 0.61 - 1.76 T# Free, Serum 6.3 H ng/dL 2.3 - 4.2 I'm on 2 1/2 grains of Armour. My Doc is in his seventies and didn't bat an eye at these numbers, said they were normal for someone on Armour. He showed me how to tell if I was going Hyper by putting my arm out and laying a sheet of paper on it. If the paper shakes, you need to be tested as you may be going Hyper. I don't know how I lucked out getting this Doc (well actually, I got his name from 's Top Doc site). I'm only concerned he'll retire and leave me to all these TSH obsessed Doctors! Guest guest
Subject: RE: TSH - supressed or not? Hi nne, Nice to meet you. My Doctor is Abelove M.D., F.A.C.P. Internal Medicine, Endocrinology He has an office in Weston and Miami. I just lucked out when I was finally dx'd and picked his name our of About.com list. The Rheumatologist I was seeing for joint pain told me to find an Endo asap as microsomal antibodies were sky-high. I called Dr. Abelove's office as he was on About.com list and also accepts my insurance-just dumb luck. He saw me the next day. I had pretty well dx'd myself, and knew I wanted to try Armour if I was Hypo. He told me I was and spent about an hour with me the first appt explaining Hypothyroidism and that a lot of people were having good results with an older drug called Armour that he had used successfully for many years. He didn't need to convince me ! I have not had to try anything else. I trust Dr. Abelove, which is saying a lot as I went throught quite a bit in my quest for diagnosis! However, I wouldn't hesitate to treat myself now if I had to, maybe go in once a year for labs or if there were any major problems. Please let me know if you'd like to know more about Dr. Abelove. Don't you have Dr. Woliner in Boca? I've seen him actually answer questions for people of the About.com Forum. Seems like he'd be a good one.
