HI Jeff,

I will be thinking of you for your surgery tomorrow. I just had the SCS implanted for 3rd time on August 18th. The first try in 2000 had the same problems with yours, my leads moved. I also had a defective battery witch quit after about one month. Since I am very small they used the peds battery which does not last as long as the adult size, but one month - come-on!!!!! They went back to fix all of this but in the end it all had to be taken out due to a very serious infection called MRSA. I tried it once again in 2001 and it worked great, well for a couple of months. It too got a MRSA infection in it. Then it was a downward spiral, anything that could go wrong did. I was in the hosp. for months at a time I cried the whole time. I had very serious complications.

Well sorry to get you down, not trying to do that but i guess it is good to know because knowledge is power!!! We are all SO different and our bodies do what ever they see fit to do! lol

Third time is the charm, right? Well, we did it again on the 18th, so far so good! You had said about the lead moving, this was one of my probs too. With this most recent surgery they have a different procedure where the implant is put into a portion of the vertebra that has been removed. My doc said this greatly reduces the chance leads moving. Is this what you are having?

Again, my prayers will be with you, stay well and know that there are people out here who care!!!

Let us know how you are doing when you can. Love Jai
