Guest guest
Tina, I am so glad that you and your children are experiencing better health. It is such a blessing, just as our children are for they really are teaching us. I am no expert on anemia, but I was wondering if you are taking any appropriate supplements for it. That may be a good temporary solution, while down the road you may be well enough not to have to take them. Kathy H. Guest guest
Tina, Can you manage to sneak in some liver into your diets each week? I know that liver has a very strong taste and it's not appealing to many people. Maybe you could take some ground round and add a piece of liver to it and put it through your food processor. Add pressed garlic and some onion slices and process it until the liver is completely ground up and mixed into the ground round. Then, make hamburgers out of it. Maybe you won't be able to taste the liver so strong. Or you could make meatballs out of it for the kids if they like those better. One other idea would be to make that meatloaf on pecanbread.com that calls for several types of meat and put liver in that. The mixture of the other flavors might hide the flavor of the liver. Eating liver 1-2 times a week should bring your iron levels up without having to take supplemental iron. Guest guest
No, I have never been able to take iron orally. It makes me really sick. So, I didn't know if there was another alternative. I think I will try the liver once a week and see if that helps. Thanks! > > Do you think my chronic borderline anemia will get better just > doing > > the SCD? Guest guest
Yes, I believe I will do that. My youngest is 11 months and slightly anemic as well. Is it okay for him to have it as well? I really actually like liver myself. Does it matter if it is beef liver or chicken liver? Is there one that is better? You see, the test said my iron was okay, but my hemoglobin was low and my ferritin, which has something to do with iron. But, I will try the weekly liver. Thanks!
