Hi...has anyone ever sued his/her Short or Long Term Disability Insurance company?...mine is telling my doctors they think I can work. My doctors say I can't. If you did sue, did you wait until you were officially denied or did you start once you (and your doctors) realized you were going to have a problem?...

I know many of my co-workers with the phone company had to sue to get their benefits. I was fortunate, I didn't have to go that road. Ya know, sometimes all it took was a letter from the attorney to get them off their pedestal.

With this type of attorney, you don't pay anything unless you win. Then the portions are only 13 - 18%. I'd get it started. Most will do a free 1/2 hour consult--just to see if you're worth takeing on.

thank you...will do. I had a horrendous discussion with them today ... after their dr. contacted my doctors, that is. and then, when I called to find out their dr.'s name, they asked "why do you want it?" ... I replied, "why do you not want to give it to me?" ... the next reply was "we protect his/her privacy". I replied, "my privacy is not being protected ... this dr. has all my medical info and is telling my dr.'s they are wrong" ... it was that type of conversation. I also added that "my" dr. now wanted me to see a psychiatrist to 1) help in dealing with a painful and chronic illness and the grieving, and 2) the stress and suicidal thoughts brought on by dealing with insurance companies! and the fear of losing health benefits if they deny me and not having funds to pay for my doc's/pain meds...I also told the claim rep that I have no idea how they want me to return to work when my doctor will not give me the note to do so and that my boss wrote them a letter indicating he did not want me there until I was better, nor will our local division co. dr. allow me back in the office without a note from my dr. ... and it was much more rediculuous than that even ... iy, yi, yi ...

STAY OFF THE PHONE WITH THESE YO-YO'S. TALK TO AN ATTORNEY. TELL YOUR MD THAT THIS IS NOT THE DEPRESSION, BUT THE ILLNESS, AND THAT IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE M.F. OF THE INSURANCE CO, YES, YOU'D BE BETTER--STRESS AND AUTO-IMMUNE DISEASES AS HE "WELL KNOWS" DON'T MIX.

HOWEVER, IF THE INS CO SENDS YOU TO A PSYCHIATRIST, GET YOUR ATTNY TO SEND YOU TO A "COUNTER-EXAM" AND PLAY THE GAME. YOU WILL WIN.

ALSO GET THEM TO SEND YOU TO A "NEURO-PSYCHIATRIST", INSTEAD OF A PSYCHIATRIST, SO THAT THE TESTING CAN INCLUDE WHAT PARTS OF YOUR BRAIN ARE BEING EFFECTED BY THE NS.

ARE YOU DEPRESSED-- YEP, WE ALL ARE--SECONDARY TO THIS FRIGGIN DISEASE.

BUT WILL THAT GET YOU WELL, HELL NO. YOU NEED IMMUNO-SUPPRESSANTS--YESTERDAY--BUT YOU KNOW THAT.

STAY OFF THE PHONE WITH THESE YO-YO'S. (I HAVE TO IN ORDER TO KEEP FROM BECOMING SICKER .Do they have to approve every single visit?--if so, get them to approve 10 visits in 3 months. You can always ask for more. It will now be the attorney's and your sarc MD that can say this lady needs xxxx.. BUT I HATE TO CALL THEM WITH AFTER EACH AND EVERY DR. VISIT) Stop calling them, let the MD's dictation and your medical records speak for themselves. TALK TO AN ATTORNEY. (SCHEDULED TO SEE ONE TOMORROW -- AND HOW DO WE GET THE LAWYERS TO UNDERSTAND OUR DISEASE Give them the document from this group website that addresses NS. http://www.elderwyn.com/neurosarcoidosis/ AND KNOW WHAT THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR?.This is the easy part, they know what they're fighting for. ..WHAT DO WE TELL THEM/ASK THEM TO DO, ETC.?..You tell them you're being hasseled by your insurance companies Short-and Long-term disability people. Your MD says no, you can't work, they're saying yes you can. The atty has done this way to many times-- he'll know exactly what to do. .I KNOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE A DUMB QUESTION, BUT I'VE NOT BEEN DOWN THIS ROAD BEFORE EITHER) TELL YOUR MD THAT THIS IS NOT THE DEPRESSION, BUT THE ILLNESS, AND THAT IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE M.F. OF THE INSURANCE CO, YES, YOU'D BE BETTER--STRESS AND AUTO-IMMUNE DISEASES AS HE "WELL KNOWS" DON'T MIX. (YES!...AND I TOLD INS. CO. THAT, TOO! -- I WANT THEM TO KNOW THEY ARE MAKING ME MORE SICK)

HOWEVER, IF THE INS CO SENDS YOU TO A PSYCHIATRIST, GET YOUR ATTNY (AS I MENTIONED, I HAVE AN APPT. TOMORROW, BUT MAY NEED TO RESCHEDULE -- I HAVE A LOT OF INFO TO PREPARE FOR THEM ... SOMETHING ELSE WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO WHILE BEING SICK...BUT YOU KNOW THAT AS WELL ... WHAT DO I TAKE?...I AM SO OVERWHELMED RIGHT NOW) Uh-huh. TO SEND YOU TO A "COUNTER-EXAM" AND PLAY THE GAME. (I TOLD INS. CO. YESTERDAY THEY ARE MORE THAN WELCOME TO SEND A DR. TO MY HOME UNANNOUNCED AND THEY WILL FIND ME IN THE SAME SORRY, SAD STATE AT ANY GIVEN TIME ... THEY SAID IT MAY COME TO THAT) (OKAY ... DOESN'T MATTER WHO INS. CO. SENDS ME TO, THEY WILL ALL SEE HOW PHYSICALLY/MENTALLY ILL I AM) YOU WILL WIN. (I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL I DO, BUT MY BODY AND MIND ARE GOING TO BE DESTROYED BY THAT TIME .... WHILE I WAS WRITING THIS, MY SARC SPECIALIST CALLED ME ... SHE SAID SHE WILL TRY TO EXPLAIN WHY I AM UNABLE TO WORK AT THIS TIME Joan, they don't want to say--black and white, you're not going back to work. She did tell you this last week, but for now--and to get the LTD going, she'll start with "for now." She too, has done this before. SHE WILL ALSO CONTACT MY FAMILY DR. ... HE FEELS LIKE HE IS IN THIS BATTLE WITH THE INS. CO. ALONE) Joan, you got a "keeper." She'll make them pull their heads outta their asses.

ALSO GET THEM TO SEND YOU TO A "NEURO-PSYCHIATRIST", INSTEAD OF A PSYCHIATRIST, SO THAT THE TESTING CAN INCLUDE WHAT PARTS OF YOUR BRAIN ARE BEING EFFECTED BY THE NS. (OKAY...I WILL CALL MY PCP TODAY TO GET SOME NAMES) If he can't come up with one, then talk to sarc MD--she probably has connections.

ARE YOU DEPRESSED-- YEP, WE ALL ARE--SECONDARY TO THIS FRIGGIN DISEASE.

BUT WILL THAT GET YOU WELL, HELL NO. YOU NEED IMMUNO-SUPPRESSANTS--YESTERDAY--BUT YOU KNOW THAT. (YES, I DO KNOW THAT AS DO MY DR.'S, BUT I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL 11/22 WHEN I SEE MY SARC SPEC. -- SHE JUST SAID TO ME ON THE PHONE "WE'LL GET YOU STARTED ON THE MEDS ... AND YOU WILL GET BETTER ... AND THEN WHAT?...AS I'VE READ FROM MOST POSTS ON HERE, YOU MIGHT GET A LITTLE BETTER FOR A LITTLE WHILE, THEN BAM, THE MONSTER BECOMES ANGRY AND FIGHTS HARDER ... IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO TRULY RECOVERED FROM NS????...I HAVEN'T READ ANYONE SAYING SUCH) Honestly, I have yet to meet someone in 4 years on this site.

Hugs,
