Hi Lori!

I'm a Lori, too! And I had surgery with Dr. Thayer 11/99! Groovy!

You'll enjoy this list. I'm going through my mail after being away for a

week. If you haven't done so already, tell us more about yourself!

I'm down 186 pounds, from 421 to 235, thanks to the good doc, taking care of

myself, support from this list/friends/family, etc. I live in Salem, NH and

attend the NWH meetings frequently. Will you be attending Feb 1st?

Congrats on your date!

Lori H.

Hi Lori,

Very nice name by the way...lol.

No, actually I didn't tell much about myself. I will now. I am 30 years

old, been married to my husband for 11 years, we have 2 sons who

are going to be 9 & 11 in March. Also have 2 cats. I have always had a

weight problem but never as bad as it is now. Was mostly in the 200's

but now I am over 400. Very depressing. After doing all the Weight

Watchers, Diet Workshop, Slimfast etc....my doctor suggested this

surgery to me back in August. At first I wasn't too sure, but the more I

read about it, the more I was all for it. Now I can't wait to have it.

I will be at next weeks meeting with my buddy Thurston. :)

STOP IT!!!!!!

My hubby's name is, guess what, PETER! We used to have 2 cats! And I used

to have webtv. And, uh, I USED to be over 400 lbs. Let's see....what else

do we have in common? Er...you don't scrapbook, do ya? What town are you

in again? You're having a nametag made, right? Do that, so I can find you

and rule out that you are my exact double. Of course, if you ARE my exact

double, I suppose I wouldn't need a nametag to recognize you, huh?

I've always been very heavy. Now, at 235 and 32 yrs old, I'm way lighter

than I used to be in high school! It's an amazing thing. When it was first

recommended to me a few years ago, I freaked. I was seeing an

endochrinologist because my weightloss has stopped all together after losing

60 pounds. Here was this excellent doctor who's oppinions I valued and who

listened to me and understood my problem, telling me I should consider this

radical surgery. It wasn't until one of my other 2 sisters who had the

surgery started looking into it that I researched the hell out of the

procedure(s) and realized it was something to consider.

Hi Sally,

Thank you for the welcome. I am so glad to be having the surgery and I

am happy to have found out about this group.

Lori B.

Lori,

Welcome to the list.

Dr. Thayer is the greatest. April 2nd will come pretty

soon. Some times the time drags and then it moves quickly.

Good luck, ask whatever questions you have of this list.

Welcome aboard. Sally
