Hi Lori! Welcome nice to see you posting. I am a post op patient of Dr.

Thayer I had open rny 6/22/99 .. at Newton Wellesley. No post op

complications, and a quick recovery. I'm a stay at home mom of 2 .. and

currently at maintenance level.

friend Sue and I were wondering after we have the surgery and we are on

liquids for a little while....what do we do, if we take other

medications for other medical problems?? like I take Zestril for

hbp....do you have to crush them?

this morning and mentioned her good friend Lori.... Welcome and let's make

Lori,

When I first came home from the hospital, I had to crush my pills. I think I

still have my pill crusher if either you need it.. I only used it a couple

of times because the pills were so nasty crushed they made me almost vomit..

You need to discuss this with your surgeon, I believe that many pills can be

obtained in liquid format if necessary. You would need to arrange this ahead

of time with your prescribing doctor and pharmacy.

did the e-groups change to yahoo groups or something overnight? i just

had to set up a yahoo account to get back into my groups.

yes, it is a small world. Sue is awesome she is a great person with a

great sense of humor. I am really glad I met her. She really lifts my

spirits up. I actually met her on the wls site. She read my profile and

wrote to me. Turns out we live in the same town, 2 min. up the street

from each other...lol. and she went to high school with my sister and

her brother went to school with my husband. we had gone to the Jan.

meeting and we sat in the corner of the room. we will probably be

sitting in the same spot next week. hope to see you then.
