Hi ,

What is the focus of your talk? When I spoke to the Fremont Orientation

a while back, the surgeons wanted me to focus on the importance of

support groups. Since I truly believe that support group participation

is vital to long-term success, it was easy to honor their request.

Have you spoken to pre-op classes before?

I hope that you don't mind the questions. I really enjoyed speaking to

the Orientation and wouldn't mind doing it again.

All the best,

Freemont is really big on support groups, and they told me that they

wouldn't perform surgery on me unless I belonged to a live support group,

and not just one on line. I really resisted this idea, since I'm not a

joiner really, but because I want the surgery I will go to

some. LaWanda At 04:40 AM 11/5/04, you wrote:

Thanks for inviting me Kay, but I will probably stick to groups in

Sacramento. I have found one that I will attend tomorrow and another that

I may attend on the Wednesday this month when it meets, I think it is a

week from this upcoming Wednesday but will have to check the list. Since I

don't drive, Going to Freemont involves me going to the home of my friend,

who lives in Alameda, on the day before I plan to do anything and then

taking Paratransit from Alameda to Freemont, a trip for which I have to

allot two hours each way, and then returning home, another long

trip. Although it is doable, it is just easier to do anything here that

can be done here. I think that, as I lose more weight, then I'll have more

energy and won't mind the trip so much, but now I do. LaWanda At 11:16 AM

Hi LaWanda,

Oops - I had forgotten that you are in the Sacramento area. Even

without the hassle of Paratransit, that would be a long way to travel

for a meeting.

I hope that the meetings that you will be attending are a good fit for

you. I look forward to going to my meetings and I hope that you come to

feel the same.

All the best,
