Guest guest
Hi Ron, Yes, I have these sweat episodes as many as 15 to 18 a day and like you say, I am completely drenched from head to toe......it actually runs down my neck and off my chin at times......what is really embarrassing is when I am out in public and people just stare at me!!!! I get so angry.. I have told the Doc about these and he just says, "uh huh" and does nothing about it!!!!! Does anyone have any suggestions or help?? LIke Ron, I would most certainly appreciate it! Hugs, Darlene Co-Owner/Moderator Sudden Onset Of Sweats, Weakness & Tinkgling Has anyone ever experienced a sudden on set of sweats, extreme weakness and tinkgling in your hands and or feet that last for 10 minutes or so?I occasionally have these episodes. I am totally drenched from head to toe. My wife uses two large towels to dry my head, face, shoulders, chest, back and sometimes legs. I have found that if I have not eaten recently or have missed a dosed of meds, then I experience this attack. It is not pleasant at all!So I try to eat something sweet, drink juice and sit until the attack goes away. It usually does in about 10-15 minutes. What about you? Been there, done that?Your feedback is welcomed and encouraged.Ronnie B~~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~ *** ~~~~The Neurosarcoidosis CommunityNS CHAT:- Has been cancelled for now.Message Archives:-http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Neurosarcoidosis/messagesMembers Database:-Listings of locations, phone numbers, and instant messengers.http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Neurosarcoidosis/database
Guest guest
Hi all, My girlfriend who has terminal colon/liver cancer, and had to have a full hysterectomy (sp?) during the removal of the cancer in her colon, was pushed into early menopause ... she started drinking soy milk (SILK) and taking vitamin E ... this stopped her hot flashes within a week or so. My sister also tried this as she was having menopausal symptoms -- her hot flashes have improved greatly. I, a vegetarian, drank SILK for years, but recently stopped as I am trying to avoid large intakes of vitamin D ... and I have been sweating terribly (due to the sarcoid flare-up I'm in) ... I think I will start drinking it again ... my sweating was never like this in prior flare-ups while I was drinking SILK. Joan
Guest guest
Thanks Joleen, But not thanks! I am a " XY " kind of guy and want to keep it that way. So I will not be putting any estrogen in my system that isn't already their. But it was a nice thought for " XX " kind of girls! Not confused, Ronnie B :] >
Guest guest
Thank you, but I don't think my sweats are related to menopause. But when I sleep in " SILK " it does exacerbate my condition. And besides, I have no FSH, LH, Progestrone, Estrogen or ovaries. So, you see what I mean? For sure, Ronnie B > Hi all, > > My girlfriend who has terminal colon/liver cancer, and had to have a full > hysterectomy (sp?) during the removal of the cancer in her colon, was pushed into > early menopause ... she started drinking soy milk (SILK) and taking vitamin E > ... this stopped her hot flashes within a week or so. Guest guest
Hi Darlene and thanks for your feedback. Wow! I can not imagine dealing with that 18 times a day! Maybe you should just buy yourself all bathing suits instead of clothes huh? I was thinking perhaps it could be a delay in taking meds. Steroids will cause and inflammatory reaction if not taken timely. I was also thinking it could be due to low blood sugar. Why? Imuran had reduced my eating habits significantly. There are times when I have to force myself to eat something even though I am not hungry and have not eaten anything in 14 hours, because I have been sleeping for the past 14 hours. This is when I have and episode because I have missed a dosage or two of meds and a meal or two. So I was thinking it could be blood sugar related as well. Hypoglyemic if you will. What I find that works for me when this sudden onset occurs is to TAKE YOUR MEDS IMMEDIATELY IF YOU ARE LATE. EAT SOMETHING THAT WILL ENTER THE BLOOD STREAM IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE NOT EATEN. Something like juice, peanut butter and jelly, in addition to a meal of veggies, baked fish etc. And lastly, HAVE SEVERAL TOWELS HANDY ALONG WITH A HELPER TO DRY YOU OFF FROM HEAD TO TOE OR FEED YOU IF NECESSARY WHILE DOING THIS UNDER THE AIR CONDITIONING VENT OR A DIRECTG FAN TO HELP COOL YOU DOWN, REPLENISH YOUR BLOOD SUGAR AND GET YOUR MED TITRATED BACK TO NORMAL LEVELS. This is what works for me. Menopause, I DON'T THINK SO. Now my wife, thats a different story or animal. GOD! I always heard stories about menapause and peri menapause. Man! It ain't no joke! I live with and entirely different person. I don't know who this woman is, from one extreme to the other. Its scarry at times. It like living with someone that hates you for no reason at all.
