" At that point we decided to implement the Jill protocol and

introduced Folinic Acid and TMG. We saw a huge but very short-lived

improvement which was followed by a loss of all his language skills

and a 3 month headbanging spree. "

Seems that the only things you changed was implementing the above

protocol. Please elaborate on the exact ingredients of the

TMC/Folinic Acid. Since this seems to have triggered this terrible

regression. Or IS there anything else you added/changed, like the

yoghurt starter or another supplement?

One of the hardest parts of trying to help your autistic child is trying to

figure out what is working, what is not and why. I have been going through

that for years with my daughter. We want to relate what they are eating or

supplements to behaviors but sometimes I think it can be other things. She

is 9 now, but when she was little like your child she did a LOT of head

banging, head picking, hair pulling out! She had bald spots on her head.

She had a lot of ear and sinus infections and finally the ear tubes helped

with that, but feel sometimes that they may have headaches, sinus problems,

seasonal allergy problems, earaches, the full moon or whatever but they

cannot tell you or describe it. They are head banging for a reason.

Frustration, self-stimulatory issues, or lots of other things. Auditory

training has helped her quite a bit and I am thinking about Cranial-Sacral

as well. She does not head bang or pull hair anymore but know she can

benefit from that therapy. Who know how they feel inside and out and how

frustrating it can be to be " locked in " and not be able to communicate your

feelings. I have always heard that when they are about to make significant

gains there is a downward spiral like a rollercoaster beforehand........it's

the nature of development. I am glad he is doing better but hope you see

that great progess of language return soon.

We used the Kirkman's TMG and Folinic Acid. They are SCD legal and

have nothing else added. We also went off them shortly after because

he was doing badly. We use Custom Probiotics Yogurt Starter.
