May I ask everyone, is this how many carbs your children are getting? Tom doesn't get nearly this amount, and it does worry me. He gets his carbs from homeade ketchup, vegetables at dinner (this is still me making him eat them), almond butter muffins and goat yogurt. When adding it all up, I'd guess he's somewhere around the 50gram mark for one day. When I add in fruit (which still only gives him about 30 more grams per day, at best), his yeast goes crazy and poops deteriorate. What kind of carbs can I feed this kid without him turning into a giggly, whacko yeast boy???? Thanks. Guest guest
Sally, Have you tried avocados? They are techincally a fruit and are very high in carbs (and fat). That would be one way to boost his carb intake. If he won't just eat them, try making the avocado meatloaf or avocado chicken salad maybe. What about dliuted juice? Can he tolerate that? That would be an easy way to increase his carb intake. Also squash is pretty high in carbs. At 50g of carbs a day, there is a good chance that he is in ketosis much of the time. Guest guest
Jody, I don't think my son is getting enough carbs either, although he does eat fruit, so maybe he is. But, he reacts to avacado very badly and won't eat squash at all. How do I get him to eat more? Also, what about for my 11 month old. He only has 2 bottom teeth but won't eat baby food anymore. He is underweight apparently according to the percentile thing. Also, what is ketosis? Thanks! Tina > Sally, > > Have you tried avocados?
