Christy, Beware! Sounds like a scam to me. You definitely don't want to give them your credit card (WARNING!!!!). Just how many people do you really think live close enough to go to one of their locations to pay the registration fee in person.

Another thing...you are not 3 hours from Ft. Lauderdale...it would take you more like 6-8 hours to get there. I drive it often enough to know. It takes me almost 4 hours to even get to Orlando from Pompano Beach which is just North of Ft. Lauderdale.

Please tell me that you didn't pay them anything. Better to book through a legitimate travel agency or a legit cruise line like Celebrity, Norweigan, etc.

Hugs,

Jane

a question

OK for those who have taken cruises or won trips to places.... help!

I got a phone call today (on my answering machine) from Security Travel USA. They said I won a 4 day, 3 night Discovery Cruise to the Bahamas. They left a message for me to call a number (long distance) for details. I called the number and it was a "generic" message... "Hello, let me tell you about the package you've won.........." Anyway, it said they pay for everything except the trip to and from Ft Lauderdale Florida where the cruise leaves from (only about 3 hours from here so that's no problem), a $77.50 registration fee per person and the $99 per person port fees and personal purchases and tips. They pay for the meals, cruise and hotel in Freeport Bahamas. They said I have to pay $77.50 by Thursday and they will mail me my package. I can pay in person at one of their 5 locations but rather than drive to Florida, I can give them my credit card number and save me that trip. I have 30 days to pay the other $77.50 for the second person and then I have 18 months to book the trip and I have to pay the port fees when I book the trip. How does this sound? Legit? I've never been on a cruise so I don't have a clue and I've never "won" a trip so I know you have to pay the taxes, etc. Is that what this is or is it a scam?

Jim and I have been on a cruise last spring for 5 days and it was terrific.

Once, we attended one of those "come-on's" where you listen to a speel and they give you a prize (which was supposed to be a free cruise if we pay port fees of $100 or some such craziness).. We were never able to collect the prize and even though we went to the actual location where the cruises were being handled from...we filed against them with a group of other persons in a class action suit and finally got our money back. The company was fined and put out of business by the State of Florida and all other states where they were holding these "give-away" promotions.

Christy, I hope you still have your money.

Hello ,

By the time you get this e-mail, you may have alrighty have this EMG test done. If you have not had this yet, be prepared for skin to be pricked because that's the way the doctor gets the reading. I had this done in Sept. 2003 at the Ann Arbor, Michigan Vetreans Hospital. Some of it was imediatialy painful and other places on the skin was just annoying. Each prick on the skin only lasts for a second or two. There's another test that I've didn't have done and that is called Nerve Velosity Test so if you get this notice in time before you go to doc, ask him/her about this kind of test. Write back and tell how it went. Be thinking about you, this like others have been concern about me.

Bye for now,
