Welcome to the list!

Hot dogs--

The one way to make 100% sure that they are legal is to make

them yourself.

We are still waiting to hear from Applegate Farms again.

The ingredients you listed might be okay, but " mustard " and

" spices " are vague terms.

As for butter, I just get pure organic butter from the HFS.

Cheeses: buy the ones that are listed as legal in the book. Don't

buy processed " cheddar " . No fake stuff. Just the real thing. :)

The types of cheeses listed are aged cheeses.

Peas are fine, but not usually introduced early in the diet.

You know, I've seen kosher hotdogs. Wouldn't those theoretically be legal or

are there other issues besides 'dairy' regarding hotdogs. If it's kosher, it

can't have diary in the meat.

However, many of the kosher dogs I've seen still contain corn syrup or other

sweeteners,

which would make them illegal.

Or is there a spice recipe so I can make my own 'sausage flavored' meat? I

saw that

ground turkey, which we use all the time, contains 'natural flavors'. Does

anyone know a

brand of ground turkey that we can use legally?

Do you have a copy of Lucy's Kitchen Cookbook? She has recipes for chorizo,

italian and

breakfast sausages. Go to www.lucyskitchenshop.com

There are two recipes for sausages at

http://www.scdrecipe.com/r_041_00068.html

and http://www.scdrecipe.com/r_041_00071.html that you could make at home or

have a butcher do up.
