Congratulations Ron, glad you're doing so well. Since I am still a pre-op,

afraid I don't have any wisdom for you, but just want to send good

wishes. Hope things continue as uncomplicated for you as they have

been. LaWanda At 04:25 PM 11/18/04, you wrote:

Ron, so glad you’re back and doing

well! I didn’t regain my appetite until about 2 ½ weeks after surgery.

Dr. Tanaka had me solely on liquids for the first 3 weeks after surgery, so by

the end of that 3rd week, I was HUNGRY! That first scrambled egg was

heavenly!  : - )

Take care,

Just got home from the Hospital!!!

Posting from the other side

Hi All, I just got back from the Hospital where I

had my surgery

done Lap on Monday by Dr. Tanaka of Pacific

Baraiatric in San Diego.

Everything went great, I was up walking Monday

afternoon and they

couldn't get me to stop after that. I must have

been very lucky or

by following all the preparation suggestions they

prescribed paid

off. I have had zero pain except for a soar throat

from surgery. I

didn't bother to use the pain killer in the drip

after Tuesday. I'm

not sure I needed it even then but they said to

plan ahead. I feel

great and no complications. I'm nearly as mobile

now as I was before

except for the drain tube I have to leave in until

Wednesday.

I think the other post ops can tell me but I

believe now is when it

gets tough. Without the sugar water drip feeding

you calories in the

hospital the time has come to supply my own

nourishment in the

limited way we can and hear is the challenge to

keep feeling good on

our own.

It's strange I don't feel a bit different and

not a bit hungry but

I have the feeling that as the nutrition they

supplied in the iv is

gone things may change.

I wanted to post this little blurb to let you all

know that it can

be smooth sailing (At least so far) and I will

keep you all informed

on my progression.

Hi Ron,

It is great to hear from you - especially to hear that you are doing so

very well.

I look forward to hearing more about your journey as you progress.

Oh . . . by the way, it might be some time before you feel really

hungry. Even without the nutrition supplied via IV, it just seems to

take some of us a long time to feel hungry - maybe because the new,

little tummy is swollen.

Take care,

Kay
