Guest guest
Well, very few people that meet me think I am normal, so I will never hear those words! LOL From: nc2406@... Guest guest
you would be well within the right assumption Cindi. I told my first Endo's nurse one day, that if not having a thyroid was so wonderful, why didn't we all get ablated, and lets' all go on thyroid meds. You should have seen the look she shot me! rofl. Now, the best part was when I knew something was wrong, she definately had thyroid eye disease because it was evident. I found out she'd had her thyroid surgically removed. My dr pushes RAI, and this was his nurse, and you know how us nosey people get! lol. I just had to ask. Seems she wasn't going to have RAI at any cost. She was sick, prolly had no business being at work that day, because she couldn't even return phone calls the days prior to my going in when I had to see the Dr. She looked at my file, and the results and told me, 'but you're normal'? That is good? lol. Yeah, normal was that my TSH fell in range of .50-5.50 (mine was 3.17) which was much too high for me. My FreeT3 and FreeT4 were in the lower 1/3 of the range, but I had no reason to feel bad, or get meds. That is the day I decided that I didn't need this dr anymore, or his version of normal. I found it hard to be angry at her that I'd had to call 3 times just to get an answer on getting some labs done. I know what was wrong with her now. She was having problems after surgery and I'm betting they offered her $inthyroid, or Levoxyl to replace it with. Sheesh! I really hate that word 'normal' anymore.
