Guest guest
There ya go, hadn't thought of that one (non conversion?)! But where did the extra T3 come from on her tests, except by maybe the antibodies? Guest guest
Hi, Joan, Maybe her body stopped converting the T4 to T3 when the extra T3 was added so that it then accumulated.??? in Va. * Thanks for the responses, . Mom's memory is better than mine, by the way! Her pulse and BP are good. She physically doesn't feel any different. I initially thought that Armour, or at least more T3, might help with the low body temp, skin and hair problems, and maybe a little more energy. Mentally she's great! Her metabolism must be very sluggish because she eats very little compared to before but does not lose weight. She does have Hashi's, confirmed by antibody test. I did not think about this at the time, but will call the doctor on Monday and ask if he will lower the Levoxyl dosage instead of the Cytomel. What puzzles me is that the dosage of T4 did not change - only the addition of Cytomel, so why the sudden jump in FT4? I'm not sure of the relationship of DHEA to thyroid hormones, but her DHEA was very low - 6 - and after taking 25mg daily it is now 65. I wonder if that affects the FT3 and FT4 at all? .... joan ..
