Hello; due to My SLE I have ulcerations on the bottom of my feet also on my

hands arms area that are VERY PAINFUL>slow healin ..I recently found a ointment

that seems to be helpful in healing. It is called www.calmoseptine.com (free

sample too) don;t be upset buy the pics they show.It is used also for bed sores

diabetes ulcerations.things like that.A wound care specialist suggested to try

it.I found it at the riteaid pharmacy asked for it behind the counter but no

script needed. The good thing is for a giant tube it cost me $7.35 which lasts

for a long time.HAH no steriods in it either.zinc being main ingredient.I am

used to payin anywhere between 30 to 75 bucks for a small tube of medicine so

this was truly a wonderful thing.Hope u have luck with this also.any questions

just ask away.Pain free day I pray for all. :) from Maine* P>S> I

had to remove my wedding ring for it reacted with the zinc made it blackish

green round my finger area.

rheumatic Q : any medication for my wife's skin & ulcer in her arm

?

My wife has Scleroderma.

She got the IV treatment every months after Mar,2003.

(from Dr. Sinnot in Iowa)

About 3 months ago, she can't get up in the bed.

She has taken PD(Predonison(?)) & Vitamin, she got a little better.

Now she can get up in the bed by herself.

Nowadays, she got pains for the ulcer in her ankel

and her skin is become darker & darker.

Any medication for her skin & ulcer ?

Thank you very much.

Hi and Yoon Jae Ho,

Skin ulcers can be treated with Duoderm, made by Convatec - it's

available in pharmacies in most countries of the world. Dr. Joe Mercola

told us about it.

It's a thin 'second skin' which allows the ulcer to heal under it and

protects the ulcer as well. The Duoderm comes in a square. You cut a

small square a bit bigger than the ulcer. Wash the area and don't put

anything on it except the Duoderm. It is waterproof so you can shower

etc. with it on. You see a build-up of matter under the Duoderm which

is the ulcer healing. After a week, you replace the Duoderm and repeat

this until the ulcer is healed.

You can read about it at http://www.convatec.com
