Guest guest
My brother has been having alot of chest pain, shortness of breath, etc. and the Doc had put him on nitro after an abnormal EKG. His echo was OK, but yesterday he had his stress echo and that wasn't right so now they have him scheduled for a cath on the 26th. A few years ago I wouldn't have expected anything like this--he's only 49--but then my uncle had open heart in 1999. Prior to that--no family history. My Uncle is a chain smoker and was60 when he had his surgery and my brother, of course smokes in addition to his history of substance abuse. He's been clean since last Aug, as far as I know, and is attending daily meetings, but last July he was in a coma in ICU for three days following a night of alcohol, pot and cocaine. They said there wasn't any permanent damage, but you know you always pay the piper somehow. I'm trying not to worry about this, but there's too much going on right now for me to be as calm as I usually am about this kind of stuff. I won't even try telling you not to worry but try some deep breathing exercises when you do start to worry.
