Guest guest
What's weird is that in Aug I had to leave work early because I felt sick to my stomach and since then I am very rarely hungry. So I'm eating a little even if I'm not hungry. When my Dr had me on prozac and b/c and I felt sick to my stomach she said to eat smaller meals. Louise PS Yeah I know I should get it chcked but every now and then I am hungry. Otherwise I feel fine. The tests they may do scare me. > In a message dated 10/26/2004 9:37:21 AM Eastern Standard Time, > joaniedolan@h... writes: > > > I compared the ingredients with Slim Fast and > > they are actually very similar. Guest guest
Undertreated hypo can sure cause a loss in appetite. I now have more of a tendency to crave carbs, since bringing my thyroid levels up, and my digestion has speeded up quite a bit. I think that possibly, in some cases, destruction of enzymes for digestion or other factors directly involving the gastric mucosa can have something to do with appetite, also. Guest guest
I never was more than 20 lbs overweight, as I am now, and my weight would go up and down from where I am now downward, then back up, so I was never taken seriously either, as far as the so called stereotype that people seem to have in mind for severely hypo people who feel bad. Whether there's a lot of weight or not, isn't it, it's mainly where the weight goes. I didn't get this anywhere in particular, but I've got the feeling that the adrenals, or the lack of cortisol, could also be responsible for appetite loss, as well as anything. Big surges of cortisol for yrs, putting it around the waist, then suddenly the things tucker out, and the fat is STILL around the waist, plus now appetite loss, to boot now. Guest guest
Aaaaaaaa, Cindi, the soy lecithin in that. I was drinking that stuff on and off also, on a regular basis. Everyone is saying that the soy lecitin does affect the hormones. Guest guest
This is exactly why I don't think I'm lacking ANY serotonin at all. All of them always made me gain weight and have constant cravings for food. All but the Wellbutrin, and it didn't kill a normal appetite or make me lose weight, it just didn't cause me crave things or lose or gain weight, any of these. This was one reason why I thought I did better on it than any of them. All but this one also constipated me so badly, that I was in trouble with that " end " of it on every single one of them. It's different in the sense that it does increase dopamine, which also helps some very addictive cravings, but I would never say that it helped me to quit smoking. I think that there is no magic bullet for that, you've got to want it so badly that it outweighs all the withdrawals.
