medication

Being new to this group, I have so many questions, but the first one

I need to ask is about medication, as I am facing a big decision

next week when I see my dr.

She, and my pain management dr, want me to consider going on

methadone. My first thought was, " what, am I going to have to go in

and get my " fix " every day? " All I ever heard about methadone was

that they give it to heroine addicts to avoid withdrawls!

Well, they explained that it's used in small doses for chronic pain,

and that it's safer and more effective than vicodin, which is what I

take now. I take if every day, and I don't like that, but I simply

cannot funtion without it. I am literally in bed with pain if I

don't take it.

I've gotten some good info about if from C., but all the

advice I can get is welcomed!!
